Many visitors appreciate the park's amenities and the friendly atmosphere, especially during events like the 4th of July when families gather to enjoy the outdoor activities. One visitor described their stay as memorable, highlighting the large camping spaces and the welcoming environment.
However, some reviews have pointed out challenges, such as limited parking availability with a fee, long treks from the parking area to the beach, and crowded conditions during peak hours. Additionally, the park's bathrooms have been noted for being unclean and frequently busy. These factors suggest that while Wenberg County Park offers many attractions, visitors should be prepared for potential inconveniences.
Overall, Wenberg County Park is a great choice for those seeking an affordable camping destination with access to natural beauty. Customer Reviews
We stayed at Wenberg for 5 days. Two accessible camping sites are available. Our space was quite large. No hookups were provided. A picnic table and grill were provided. Outdoor water faucet was near the bathrooms. Coin operated showers are available in bathrooms. No family shower. Wood for fires was available from host for $5.00 per bundle. We were there over the 4th of July. Many families with children were happily playing around the campsites. Beautiful Lake Goodwin is accessible down a long road. Boat ramp and beach area and picnic areas along the shore line.
Horrible! Parking is a nightmare ! It also costs $10 to park. Long trek down a huge hill to get to beach, plus don't forget you have to trek it back up when you leave. Bathrooms are disgusting, and there is always a huge line. Dogs are allowed only in grass area, they aren't allowed in water or sand, nor on the dock. Small swimming area that gets crowded and hard to see your kids in it. Small but decent sand area. Tons of grassy spots for sitting but again gets overly crowded. Dock is nice but you can not jump off of it, it's just for looking and walking on. Horrible experience honestly, probably will never be back.
This is easily my most favorite park that I’ve found since moving to WA. All parks here are very well kept, plenty of Picnic tables and two little sand beaches. Definitely a perfect place
I usually don’t pay for camping and find a free spot but we decided to stay for the night, and I’ve never met such nice and caring rangers!! I can’t remember her name but she loved our pitty puppy and made an impact for sure! Wonderful people and beautiful clean campground
I don't want to tell you how amazing it was camping here, because I want to be able to get a reservation again next summer. The campground is great. The bathrooms are nice. The host is friendly. The lake is not too cold. The swim area is very fun, and not too deep. There are so many tall trees for shade. There are plenty of picnic tables at the lake. (The hike back to the parking and camping areas is a bit steep). Saturday was the busiest day at the lake! Sunday was pretty busy, but not bad. Monday was even less busy (as expected). 10 out of 10, definitely recommend. You should camp here.
