Westgate Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort

Lovely beach resort with private beach entrances. As Westgate Owners we normally opt to stay at Westgate Resorts when traveling. This specific property is nice and clean. Being we are traveling here during the off season it was extremely quiet and enjoyable. A few eateries located in the 2nd tower with Starbucks, nice pools and plenty of sitting areas. We opted for a one room villa ocean view and was not disappointed. Room was directly on the beach and constantly hearing crashing waves and quietness off the ocean. It was a wonderful weekend getaway!

We recently stayed at the Westgate Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort and cannot say enough good things about them. The venue was wonderful, meticulous and has so many amenities. They have a regular pool, splash pad, lap pool and what I believe is a walking pool. The oceanfront rooms give you such a beautiful view of the Atlantic Ocean. You can walk for miles either on the beach or along the Boardwalk. The staff is great. There is anything and everything your child might want to do there to keep them occupied, whether in the pool, the arcade on site or the beach. A small store with Starbucks for the early morning risers. It was a wonderful trip.

Westgate was a major disappointment! I reserved A Coastal View Villa Suite (see attached pic). The reservation pic and description highlighted a suite with a balcony overseeing the oceanfront/coastal view. I was so excited to celebrate my anniversary here! When I checked in with a moody desk clerk on our first night, I discovered my "coastal view" was 95% view of the hotel's parking garage (see pic). I complained to the staff the very next morning. "This was false advertising!" Nothing was done to change the accommodation. I asked to see a manger, but she was too busy to respond to my plea for the following 2 days. Ultimately, the staff's justification was that I could see some of the coast from a very small angles of the suite's balcony, therefore that justified the advertising, price and accommodation. I was infuriated! I left my number to speak to the manger who refused to respond to my cries for assistance on the matter. I spent 3 nights fuming over the unprofessional customer service and indifference towards the matter. Beware the Westgate advertising! Call for clarification on what they consider coastal/oceanfront view based on the room you are assigned. I could have paid less for better accommodations at other hotels along the Myrtle Beach Oceanfront. Major regret!!!

My husband booked this trip months in advance. We was excited to be at myrtle beach ! Been 27 years since I been back to the ocean after moving to Michigan. Well the ocean is great this hotel "resort" is not. The room we got is not renovated as stated , bathroom was dirty grout even dirty , room smelled like moldy musk and nasty bed head . I was to tired after our flight to even argue about it so us being us are just trying to make the best out of it. 10 out of 10 I do not recommend

We got this hotel on a budget, and it said outdated rooms and partial ocean view. We ended up with a whole kitchen and suite with an ocean front view. The pools and amenities were also very amazing. They gave coupons for local places and had a free parking garage right on site to use. We didn't do the timeshare!! So it may be different with doing the timeshare stay. We loved the stay and would definitely stay again. Very clean as well!!
