PLAN AHEAD!!! Make sure you reserve in advance called and was assured that there was a few available spots and to come by around two. Arrived before two and there was no sites was told to come back after 5 and possibly we could get a handicapped site. Thankfully there was one. The site itself was nice the showers are coin operated but do not get very hot so pretty disappointing. We tried to stay one more night to get a chance to see more of the sites in Fort Bragg. The lady I talked to which is the same that misguided us on the phone the day prior had use check out two different sites and to come back and tell her which one we liked. And after walking and then driving because it was in a different section of campgrounds to check out both sites. We were told we could not have them because people were already in them. WHY DID YOU EVEN HAVE US LOOK THEN!!! SO CONFUSING. Which is a shame because the campgrounds area itself is absolutely beautiful. Only reason they are getting two stars instead one

The campground is beautiful. The day use area is now free. There is a great almost level five mile trail along the coast, perfect for bicycles. Unfortunately, mine was ripped off in the middle of the night from my campsite, before I had a chance to take a ride along it. I never thought, that this could happen in a State Park. Watch your stuff.

Beautiful campground. Great amenities. New shower building. Lost marks for no hand soap in the bathrooms and couldn’t find anywhere to buy token for shower. Office was closed by 5 and no rangers in sight. Otherwise would have been 5 stars.

We always stop at McKerricher Beach State Park when we visit the area. It is the best beach for walks. Very long beach. Great tidal pools. Great whale watching. Perfect place for watching the sunset. Handicap accessible boardwalk on the bluff with nice ocean viewing areas. Bring your camera!
