This family owned campground is one of my favorites for a quiet, comfortable stay. Mr. White treats you like family and is eager to accommodate his guests. It's clean, sites are spacious, pet friendly and close to all the Bardstown attractions.
I will definitely return to this park over and over! It is a bit basic but the staff are super friendly. The hookups are all good and the sites are fairly level. I love it because it’s quiet and there aren’t all the activities going on all the time.
Old school campground. However when your coming to participate in the Bardstown KY bourbon experience you won't be thinking clearing. Enjoy the moment. I sleep with my eyes closed. Folks in office were great, level site and some nice tall trees. Cheers
My wife and I stayed here for two days and nights from August 6-8, 2024. I booked my reservation on the phone about 10 days before arrival with a real nice lady (owner's wife?) since they don't have a website to book online. She alerted me that I would need a 50 Amp to 30 Amp adapter plug for my small travel trailer since their sites are all wired for 50 Amp only. She did not give me a specific camp site on the phone, but held me a space with my credit card number. When I arrived, I was met by the very friendly owner and he assigned me a pretty nice shady camp site under a few oak trees, which was about 200 yards walk from the shower/bath house. He escorted me there in his golf cart and made sure my site assignment was too my liking before pulled through and hooked up. The park itself looked to be only about 30% occupied while we were there. My assigned site was gravel and not completely level, but the power was clean and the water pressure was good, and being under one of the few trees on the property made it a jewel in the heat and humidity of mid-summer Kentucky. The location of this park is also super convenient and only a two miles from "downtown" Bardstown. It's a great spot to use as your "Lilly Pad" for doing the Bourbon Trail since there are about 15 distilleries within a 20-25 mile radius. My only major gripe at this RV park concerned the showers/bathrooms. The inside plumbing and fixtures are about 15 years overdue for replacement and the water pressure was super low. They are located adjacent to a barn that's also about 200 yards walk from the RV sites and there is no parking lot next to them. If you have a camping partner with a big ditty kit or makeup bag to carry and a bulky change of clothes, he or she won't be happy about the long walk there and back, particularly if its raining or super hot and sunny. IF YOU ARE IN A SELF-CONTAINED CLASS A or B MOTOR HOME WITH A BUILT IN SHOWER AND BATH, THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO STAY BECAUSE OF ITS LOCATION. If you are in a small (shower-less) travel trailer like mine, you'll want to look for other options in the area like the nearby Old Kentucky Home State Park just to the east of Bardstown.
We haul 37 foot trailer with an F450, and we travel a ton. Many camp sites, KOAs, private, state parks, ect. I've read some reviews saying this camp site was ran by a grumpy old man. Well, this couldn't be farther from the truth. The gentleman who runs it is very kind and personable. He greeted me, drove me around in a golf cart and allowed me to pick the site I wanted. There are a number of back in, pull through, shaded and sunny sites. Seem to be all full hookups with 50 amp service. The price was VERY reasonable. I think it was like 55 dollars per night. Located very close to downtown Bardstown, there is a ton to do. We will be back here, that's for sure!
