Firstly, its convenient location near Townsend makes it an accessible weekend getaway without the need for extensive travel, allowing more time to enjoy the destination itself. For avid anglers, the unparalleled fishing opportunities on Canyon Ferry Lake, combined with the ease of boat launching and overnight beaching, make it a natural choice for regular fishing excursions. Well ill just say i hate having to reserve campsites on the internet. But its the new age we are in i suppose. Clean quiet campground. Decent launch. I really like the bay off to the side were you can beach your boat overnight and its out of the wind. Your in good fishing territory within minutes. Also like the bull and bar cafe place (old winston bar) off the highway were you turn to the campground. We had lunch there and it made things much easier knowing we didnt have to pack food. Not a huge fan of the dirt road but thats because i have an old boat and it beats the crap out of it. Its a little ways down that road but its worth it. Reserve in advance. Way in advance we could only get one night. There was at least four sites that people reserved and never even showed up. Which really irritates me because you can cancel the reservation. U may pay a fee but remember there is a lot of other people trying to enjoy the limited sites we have for the amount of people trying to use them. So be considerate of that when you cant make your reservation. As on all parts of canyon ferry watch the weather especially on a smaller boat. You dont want to get caught on the south end of the lake with weather coming in and dead batteries low fuel etc. Clean bathrooms lots of shoreline lots of dogs some off leash but that doesnt bother me. If you have dog issues go somewere else. Dont start crying to the camp host about people and their dogs Please. I personally always leash my german shepard because he doesnt like little dogs and i dont take the chance. But we all have our own ways with our pets. We tent camped and it wasnt very flat. Its close to home for us and we go fishing every weekend anyways so it saves time to stay and leave the boat in to catch the sunrise and sunset feeding times.

Nice spot to camp by the lake. Restrooms are Porta potty. Rangers do not sell wood. Water spigot near bathrooms. It's pitch dark at night and difficult to find campgrounds so be prepared. There's also a very long road to get to the campgrounds. Boat and RV connections are available.

What a great surprise! After driving 5 miles on a dirt road, over a hill, and there sits a beautiful lake!! No hook ups, vault toilets, but for $10 a night ($5 if you have America the Beautiful pass), you have a beautiful lake view.

The campground is looking great this year. The site pads are very nice and the new trees are looking great. We always look forward to our regular guests coming back as well as all the new guests we get to meet. We call this home and hope all our guests enjoy their visit here with us. Enjoyable fishing, swimming, boating and relaxing to be had by all.

Beautiful! Dog friendly and quiet (midweek, early season). Spots near the lake were gorgeous. Close to town. Host was delightful.
