Lake side views are awesome. Bike camped here on day 2 of a 3 day trip. The reservation was a bit expensive though, one night was 32 bucks. All in all, I'll probably be back.
Great camp sites, all right on the lake. Can kayak or boat from the ramp right across to your campsite. My notes on each site:. 1 and 2 alot branches in water, noisy due to boat ramp. 3 big tree roots, swampy 4. Muddy but good kayak access, secret spot right by #3 5. Very sunny, muddy and branches 6. Muddy, small drop but good access, Nook for tent, trail to #5 7. two tent nooks, muddy but beachish, not facing dock, hammock trees 9. Nice beach with drop off to lake. Large nook up close to trail or by firepit. Wide hammock stretch. 10. No lake access due to large drop off & trees 11. No lake access or table, huge drop off 12. No lake access, not private, have to walk thru to get to #13 13. Access via 12, sm drop to ok beach, sunny, small, right by dock. 14. Half shade, not private due to wide open to lake, tables, beach, raised fire, hammock trees. 15. Smaller version of 14. 16. Very small beach but shaded. Trail to 15.
Great secluded youth campground.
I love going here no matter what the season. There are about 16 individual camp sites, each providing access to the lake. A parking area exists, with the sites located linearly along the lake. So, site #16 can be a bit of a walk when carrying your camping supplies. Each site has a fire ring and ample room. A well maintained bath house is within easy walking distance. The campsite is next to the lakes boat ramp making launching very convenient.
I love this camp site. It has well kept restrooms for tent campers, picnic tables and fire pits at every site. I find the price of 19 bucks to be high when I'm not getting electric or water service. And when it rains I've found out, drainage isn't that great so it stays very muddy longer than I expected. Again, I love the experience there, just a couple things they could improve upon.
As advertised with rustic camping. Sites are far enough away that you don't see your neighbors. Every site has lake shore. My son is wanting to go back amd we just got home. Only reason for the 4 star is have a hard time paying same price for a primitive site with no water source as i would for a tent site near a water source.
