We arrived at this park and the only one around was the maintenance man. He was helpful and showed us our options for parking (we did have reservations). We selected a site and got settled. We knew when we made the reservation that we would only have water and 20 amp power and would be in their Overflow section. That was OK with us. We headed out to see the whales at St. Vincent's and upon return, noticed the breaker had blown - we only had our refrigerator running. We had enough cord to try 4 of the outlets in the Overflow section and every one of them blew - with just the refrigerator running. We have been able to run one air conditioner on 20 amps along with the refrigerator, so something was amiss. We left after just one night when we had planned to stay 3. Clearly that isn't a problem throughout the park, as there were numerous seasonal campers. The campground has lovely views of the mountains.
Feel bad about giving them two stars after reading other reviews . Our experience wasn't great all be it they were having phone issues and were clearly stressed out . The toilets are clean but very dated our site was covered in litter that looked like it had been there for some time . I would have to say it must have been lovely at one time but for the price not worth the stay . We had a 15 amp site which was fine as AC not required but tripped and couldn't be reset just before we left @ $50 a site I would expect full service. The seasonal sites all looked like the people cared about them and were well looked after . Sorry for the rating just our experience!
We stop in to visit the area to see what outside look like. It is a well maintained camp environment for kids and family to enjoy nature, play and relax outside.
After a long day, I ended up at this place after dark. Even though their office was closed, they provided a phone number, which soon had me helped by 3 off duty people. They found a spot for me, and one even parked with her headlights on to help while I hooked up to hydro. It was a busy, full place with families having lots of fun, and it was clear this was a caring, fun place to be. Can't recommend it highly enough. True spirit of Newfoundland and Labrador. Thanks, everyone!
Where do I start, this place use to be good but after what happened yesterday I'm never coming back here again. The events are poorly made and poorly done, I got to the shop 7 minutes before closing and the lady behind the cash register got the kids in there to lock the door and tell me to leave, when I turned around she was letting more people in even though there was no line up when I was there. Then after a few minutes after closing she was letting more people in. Plus as soon as you get to meet people for less than a day, they're gonna get rude easily. I even saw a girl hitting somebody else with her bag for fun.
