Awesome spot. In a pretty canyon by the river. Group campsites, with a picnic table and room to spread out. Vault toilet. No running water. The only significant drawback is the train traffic which is just on the other side of the river and will rumble through at night.
Dry campground with 5 campsites. Each campsite has a table and fire ring. Fire are restricted for some of the year. A reasonably clean pit toilet is available. A dumpster is available. There is a machine for self registration with a credit card, but it had issues. It showed only campsites 1 and 5 available. No campsites were occupied. There were signs on campsite 5 indicating it was a group campsite, but it only had space for a small tent and the machine only charged the regular site fee. Campsite 2 would be better suited for a group. After we registered for campsite 5, it still showed available on the machine. The area is sagebrush/creosote scrub with short trees in the riparian area. Fishing is available in the river. Nice views. We saw osprey, common mergansers, vultures, yellow warblers, orioles and lazuli buntings. We had three trains pass by during the day and one particularly loud one at 1:00 am.
Absolutely beautiful! The majority of the spots, and all of the spots that were on the water or with any kind of view, were reserved for groups. As the only other campers there mentioned, put on your paper that you're a party of 6, and you don't know when the others are showing up, if anyone asks 😁
This spot is set up for tent camping only. Our 21 foot rv fit in here just fine. Restroom is not maintained but trash is.
Great campground! Beautifully located right next to the river!
