Good dark skies close to the city. During the summer you can see the Milky Way here despite being so close to high light pollution cities
Great time, bring Mosquito Spray. Definitely one of the beautiful places in Utah. Great campsite, no running water, cool pavilion and nice fire pit (unused) on this trip. Our campsite didn’t have the nasty smell that can be associated with deceased Brine Shrimp and the Great Salt Lake. Beautiful sunset and views of the moon.
A barren island, no water, often in warm weather it is infested with gnats and only pit toilets. The plusses... No one around, beautiful deserted scenes and a sky full of stars.
Took the Scouts camping hear last October. It was a little windy but there were no bugs. I hear the bugs can be a real problem in the warmer months. We went on a hike nearby (see picture below) which was a great little hike. We saw Bison, Antelope, Mule Deer, and a Jack Rabbit. We will be going back soon!
This is a great campground for the whole family. There are pit toilets available, plenty of parking, and tent sites. There's great places to hike and amazing views
