We stayed here for a snowmobile trip. It was perfect for us. The owner was very friendly and very accommodating. The room we stayed in had two queen beds which were very comfortable, a good ceiling fan, plenty of places to dry your gear and a kitchenette with stove/oven, full size refrigerator, pots pans, coffee pot, microwave, small small table. Snowmobile trail goes directly out the back side of their property and connects with trail 5. Since we stayed in the winter the RV parking spots were open which allowed us to back our trailers in to those spots. Would absolutely stay here again for a snowmobile trip.
Lack of snow in WI sent us to the Black Hills to check off an item on our bucket list!! Whitetail Creek is a charming motel, clean, friendly owners, gas right at the lodge. Everything was just as the pics showed online. We had a great experience and definitely will be back on sleds and ATV again. Highly recommended this lodge!!
We loved our time at Whitetail Creek Resort and will definitely be back. We stayed in the Deluxe Camping Cabin which included a lofted bed and electricity. The cabin was little, but just exactly what we were looking for. We loved sitting on our patio and enjoying Whitetail Creek which ran through the property. It is quite close to the road, which was busy and a bit noisy with motorcycles and side by sides during daytime hours, which was our only small complaint. The up side to that is that you don’t have much of a drive to get anywhere, as you just hop in your car and you’re right on the main road into Lead and Deadwood. Bathrooms were simple but clean, and never seemed to be busy. The campground was quiet. We did have some cigarette smokers near us which we didn’t love, but that could really only be solved if they were completely a smoke-free resort or had a specific area where people could do so. Deluxe camping cabins do have a picnic table, coffee maker, ample outlets for plugging in, and towels for the showers. We checked out the community fire pit one night, but didn’t take full advantage of all amenities due to our brief stay. Lots of places to sit along the creek and enjoy nature. Overall would highly recommend and will definitely be back! Thank you!
We had our department retreat here. It was the most amazing experience for the entire team. Such a great location with so many activities near by for team building. The owners of this place are absolutely amazing! The facilities are perfect as well. We will be back for future retreats as well as for personal trips.
Chris and Autumn are Great people! So nice, helpful and really down to earth! They really have a Beautiful place, and you can tell they put a lot of work into the upkeep of it. The cabins and rooms are absolutely amazing and had everything we needed! They even sold good pizzas in the office and had the pizza oven right there to cook it! We needed it one night, as the 2 closest recommended places we wanted to eat were closed during the week, and no one delivered pizza, and then we realized the office had this amenity available, how Perfect!!! Among other items too! We had a group of 12 people staying from a Monday-Saturday morning for our first 4 wheeler trip in South Dakota! A few of them had never even been to SD!! They gave us maps, and able to purchase the trail permit right there. Perfect location between towns, trails and we all had a great time! We always came back to a clean room, as their staff had been in and changed out towels, and tidied up the room! Both ladies were just as friendly and always greeting you and saying hello, or good morning! The backyard area of the resort was so relaxing, with the sound of the creek, the multiple areas to sit and relax, the entertainment/gathering area is awesome and these chair swings, oh my, yep need to order myself some! Our group enjoyed ourselves the entire time whether we were out riding or at the resort relaxing! Thank you so much Chris and Autumn You both are Wonderful people, and have a Beautiful place, your hard work shows! Hope to see you annually! Terry, Annie, Chris S. Chad and Kris N. Mike and Linda S.
