Absolutely loved our stay at Wichita Point Campground! Nestled on the shores of Cheney Lake, the campsites are spacious and right by the water—perfect for swimming, fishing, and simply relaxing by the tent. The shallow, clear waters extend far enough to wade comfortably, which was ideal for both kids and the dog to splash around. Facilities were spotless: clean restrooms and showers, well-maintained picnic tables, and helpful camp hosts. . We appreciated the bait shop and marina for ease of boat rentals and fishing supplies. Booking in advance, especially on holiday weekends, is key—it fills up fast! Whether you’re paddling, hiking, or catching dinner right off the dock, Wichita Point delivers a perfect mix of nature, convenience, and peaceful charm. Really cool place, great for camping. Swimming is okay lots of beach, stays shallow a long ways out. If you want to fish bring your waders and be prepared to walk a ways to the water and then get out 100ft from the shore to cast. That far out and you're just a bit past waste deep.

Spent memorial day weekend camping here. Booked 3 months in advance and had to book for 4 nights because it was a holiday weekend. We took our dog who loved swimming in the lake, barbecued some ribs and hung out with friends. Overall a good experience.
