Wild Mare Horse Camp Introduce

Wild Mare Horse Camp is a unique equestrian-focused campground nestled along Horsfall Beach Rd in North Bend, Oregon. This charming camp offers a serene environment perfect for horseback riding enthusiasts and those looking to connect with nature while enjoying the great outdoors. The camp provides essential facilities and services tailored to both riders and their horses, making it an ideal destination for equestrians visiting the Oregon coast.

Set in a tranquil location near the beach, Wild Mare Horse Camp offers large camping areas with easy access to beautiful trails that wind through the coastal landscape. The campsite is designed to accommodate both horseback riding enthusiasts and those who simply enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Whether you're planning a short layover or an extended stay, Wild Mare Horse Camp provides the perfect base for exploring the Oregon coast.

One of the standout features of Wild Mare Horse Camp is its pipe corrals, which are available at each campsite. These corrals provide secure and comfortable accommodations for horses, ensuring they remain safe and content while you explore the surrounding area. Additionally, the camp offers drinking water for both humans and horses, though there is no direct water hookup for filling tanks. This setup ensures that visitors can easily access water without worrying about hooking up their own systems.

Wild Mare Horse Camp also boasts a manure pile located at some distance from the camping spots, which helps maintain the cleanliness of the area while providing a practical solution for horse owners. The campsite is open to non-equestrians as well, but priority is given to those traveling with horses, ensuring that equestrian visitors have access to dedicated spots.

For those arriving with larger rigs or vehicles, the RV parking areas are designed to accommodate technical setups, though some maneuvering may be required. However, with careful planning and a bit of experience, even those unfamiliar with such setups can manage effectively.

The campsite offers large, sand-filled camping areas that provide ample space for both tents and RVs. Each site is equipped with corrals, with some sites featuring wood corrals and others offering metal corrals with multiple stalls. This variety ensures that visitors can choose a setup that best suits their needs and preferences.

Wild Mare Horse Camp is highly praised by its guests for its quiet and secluded atmosphere. Unlike many campsites, this location does not see a lot of vehicle traffic, making it an ideal destination for those seeking peace and tranquility. The beachfront trails are another highlight, offering riders and hikers alike the opportunity to explore breathtaking coastal scenery.

Customer feedback highlights the camp's strengths and areas for improvement. Many visitors appreciate the beauty of the campground, the ease of access to the beach, and the abundance of trails. One guest noted that while the corrals were nice, they had difficulty accessing water for their horses, as there were no hose hookups available on-site. This required them to carry buckets of water back to their stalls, which was manageable but tiring with multiple horses.

Another visitor praised the camp's overall experience, stating that it was substantially better than their previous equestrian camping experiences. They appreciated the large camping areas and the variety of corrals available on different sites. The quiet environment and lack of vehicle traffic were also highly commended, as they provided a peaceful setting for both horses and humans.

Wild Mare Horse Camp is an excellent choice for anyone looking to enjoy the Oregon coast with their horse. Its combination of natural beauty, equestrian-friendly amenities, and easy access to trails makes it a standout destination for riders of all levels. Beautiful horse campground. We were here for a layover but we will return. Nice pipe corrals, drinking water but no water to fill up your tanks per signage. There is a manure pile, quite far from the camp spots. Unfortunately non-equestrians are allowed to take up equestrian spots. Easy access to the beach with beautiful trails to explore. Spots are not easy and technical to get into, but if you know how to backup your rig, you'll be fine.

This is a great area to camp with horses. Quiet, not busy with vehicles driving through. Water was easily accessed, but we could not hook our hoses up to water. Had to carry the buckets with water back to the horse stalls. Not too hard, but when you have at least 6 horses and each get two buckets ... It becomes a workout... The camp areas were large, sand filled. We had 3 camp sites, 2 of the sites had wood corrals, each had 2 stalls, and 1 camp site had metal corrals with 4 stalls. Wild Mare Horse Camp was substantially better than the last one we camped at.

This is supposed to be a campsite for horseback riders. What utilities actually is, is a free campsite for drug users. Hopefully this review will stop others from what we experienced. Our truck had every window smashed, even though one would have been sufficient to gain entry. They slashed all of our tires, along with our tent. Everything that could be stolen was, the rest destroyed. After, we were told "didn't anyone tell you to leave a guard behind for your stuff?" No, we weren't told that, and no one should have to leave a guard behind at a campground. There's a code amongst campers. You clean up after yourselves, help fellow campers in need, courtesy, etc. Apparently homeless drug addicts are immune from these, and obviously park rangers are blind to it. Find an abandoned parking lot, you and your belongings will be safer.

Wild Mare Horse is not a good horse camp. Yes, there is pens for horses but Sites 3, 7 & 8 have railroad quality gravel in the pens, not 3/4 minus gravel, but large sharp pointed rocks. It is also allows non horse people in travel trailers and tents to camp there. Which is the majority of the people camping there. I don't blame them, there is other no place for them to camp. The other two campgrounds are full of ATV's that you hear all the time at Wild Mare Horse Camp. Then there is the mosquitoes! By mid July the mosquitoes are numerous but OFF very generously applied to horse and person works very well. There is no camphost and very occasionally a park person will stop by long enough to throw some toilet paper into the restrooms. I did like the riding there but I won't be going back.

Love the miles of trails in this area. Restrictions from the snowy plover cut it up some. But it is a beautiful camp and perfect for the heat of summer.

Beautiful campground. It is very quiet and peaceful. There's a wonderful breeze coming off of the ocean that keeps everything nice and cool even in the summer.
