This is a very nice campground with large camp sites and very spread out lots of hiking trails and things to see.
Manager of the campground has a really nasty, bullying demeanor. This is well known to regulars according to the kayak tour vendor. She really enjoys disrupting family gatherings to nitpick on rules like nothing on the ground or no more than two structures but the real problem was the smug contempt. I've been camping for 20+ years and have had plenty of campground managers being nitpicky but nothing like this woman. Also the bathrooms are too few, too far apart, and absolutely disgusting - and the only dump station has been closed for over a year with no efforts to fix it, meaning they're violating Minnesota state law by charging the max nightly fee for a full-service campground. Plenty of beautiful and well-run state parks in the vicinity - give this one a pass.
Abundant wildlife and so many bird songs. I was enthralled with the beautiful songs of the Wood Thrush. Nice campground, but I do not camp to hear everyone's dog barking. If you can't keep your dog quiet, it does not belong in the campground. While we were here, the dump station was closed due to a water line break, and only 1 womens shower in A through C lanes was funtioning. This was over the 4th. One would think an effort would be made for a holiday week.
This campground is very large and very spread out. One of the nicer ones in our state parks.
Nice quiet camping. Sites are shaded, nice walking trails
