A Magical First Overnight Camp Experience at Wild West Campground and Corral 🐴🎉 We recently sent our 8- and 10-year-old daughters to Wild West Campground and Corral for their first overnight camp—and it was absolutely amazing. As parents, we had some nerves about them being away from home, but the staff made the entire experience welcoming, safe, and truly unforgettable. Our youngest even celebrated her birthday during camp, and the team went above and beyond to make her feel so special. She came home glowing and announced it was "the best camp ever!" Their thoughtfulness and attention to detail made her day magical. Our 10-year-old had a blast too. She’s now hooked on horseback riding and even wants to quit her other sports just to ride horses full-time—a testament to the fun and inspiration she found at camp. Wild West Campground and Corral gave our girls confidence, joy, and cherished memories. We’re so thankful for the amazing staff and highly recommend this camp to any family looking for a fun-filled, nurturing experience their kids won’t forget.
Awesome campground to stay at. Very well kept by the owner. He and staff were very professional, helpful and accommodating. Having horseback riding on site as an option is fantastic. The owner also puts on a Friday night fish fry which was also delicious. The other guests at the grounds were very respectful. This is for sure in the top 3 campgrounds i have been to in Wisconsin. Thank you Wild West we will definitely be returning in the future.
I went with my seven year old to get more experience with horses. The group cabin we stayed in was modern with really nice bathrooms and bunk beds. The meals were really kid friendly and delicious. My favorite part of the camp is the level of experience it gives you working with horses and how the program progresses you with easier skills to more experienced skills. This includes haltering your horse from the pasture and handling your horse on your own in a prairie. I felt so much more comfortable riding and leading my horse after I left. The camp also has a playground and chances to feed horses snacks. The crafts were a joy for me and my kiddo. Oh, and there is good WiFi! Recommendations if you go: if you have a bad back, bring a camping mat with you (I did and it worked perfectly). Bring some extra fruits and vegetables if that is important to you as it is cowboy fare. I snacked on carrots available for the horses and that worked well. Bring cash for tips for the ride leads. Bring some peppermints for treats for the horses. And don't forget towels! Several families on our weekend forgot and the camp tried to accommodate those families.
My daughter and I had a great time at the Mother Daughter Horse Camp this past weekend. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We felt like we were part of the family. It was a great experience with the horses, and we really enjoyed learning how to care for them. We had the same horse all weekend which was really cool. Hope to be back next year!
My daughter just got back from girls horse camp and has not stopped talking about all the fun she had!! She loved the people, the activities and the horse experience! Jay and his crew are amazing and made my girl feel safe away from home and taught her great things about horses and horseback riding!!
