Wilderness has a swimming lake, fishing lake, bingo, dog park, etc. 5 stars all the way!!" Another guest mentioned, "Place looks nice and clean. After swimming for 10 or 15 minutes, 3 people from my group were bitten in the water by fish. My wife's leg was bleeding. We got out and did not want to go back in. We decided to leave. I went to the office and stated we'd like to have our money back. We've been here 20 or 25 minutes and 3 people were bitten and we did not want to go back in the water. She said that's nature. I stated I've never been here before and didn't know there were fish in the swimming area. Place looks nice and I was considering camping here. I believe they should have refunded our money. We were there for 20 - 25 minutes and went swimming for 10 to 15 minutes for $49."

Such a great campground!! Centrally located to everything! True story...we actually had 2 other campgrounds WE THOUGHT we wanted but no availability. So, we found Wilderness. Days later we rode past those other 2 campgrounds...we were so thankful they didn't work out. Wilderness campground has a swimming lake, fishing lake, bingo, dog park, etc.. 5 stars all the way!!
We came here and bought a day pass to go swimming. Place looks nice and clean. After swimming for 10 or 15 minutes 3 people from my group were bitten in the water by fish. My wife's leg was bleeding. We got out and did not want to go back in. We decided to leave. I went to the office and stated we'd like to have our money back. We were there for 20 - 25 minutes and went swimming for 10 to 15 minutes for $49.
We started off with a great experience. The lady at the front desk when we checked in was very nice! The property is quaint and beautiful. The sites themselves are perfect- big' plenty of grass and a great firepit! The problem we had isn't with the beautiful property. The problem is the horrible service we received with management. A rule that was overlooked on our part turned into a huge personal attack in which we were very distraught and upset with. As beautiful as this place is I do not recommend unless you want to feel like you are under constant supervision and surveillance.
Went there on a day pass today 7/6/24. Upon arrival to location with my family we were greeted my a younger female who we paid to enter the location. She used a garage door clicker after paying to allow us through. My wife had to leave to run back to our home quickly and upon her return the new perosn in the front stated since we didn’t have a pass we would have to pay to reenter. I stated we already paid and that we asked an employee in the front before we left if we needed anything to get back in and he stated no. The male up in the office stated he had to call “Amy”. Amy showed up and asked us what time we would of came in because no one of their employees would of let us in without a green pass and that someone standing outside of their office must of scammed us. Which doesn’t make sense because you have to have a code or garage clicker to get through the gate. Bad experience
We were so happy to be escorted to our site and even more delighted that they have a dog park. The campground is peaceful and quiet. Amazing playground! Grocery store is less than a 10 minute drive. Owners were so helpful, polite and friendly. We highly recommend this family friendly campground!
We were told about this campground by a friend. We had previously camped at KOA, but Wilderness knocks them right out. Their spots are well set up, and the owners are so kind and helpful. The store is fully stocked with everything you need and the two ponds are lovely. The swimming pond is safe and the fishing pond is well stocked. They don't have sewer hookups, but they do come around and suck out your tanks for you (for a small fee), there is also a dumpwater station. Lots of activities are planned over the the weekend. Great place for families.
Second time camping here, everyone is so friendly and the grounds are kept in very nice condition and very clean!
