There are only a very few sites available to "Camp". The vast majority of lots are controlled by three separate HOA's whose members may or may not lease/rent their lot. It depends on which section HOA their lot resides and it's by-laws.
We came to Wilderness for Memorial Day weekend and fell in love! Friendly people, nice pools, hot tub, beautiful river, hiking in the woods, and the onsite Restaurant Eli's IS DELISH and great prices! We decided to buy one of the oversized lots so now we are part of this great community!
Very friendly people. Been here a few times to rent a canoe over about ten years. We love how low key, friendly and helpful they are. The river is amazing and get to see over 30+ species of birds, turtles, snakes, fish. alligators and manatees!
This is primarily an owner owned site campground. It is well maintained and the folks we met were great. However, the few sites available to rent through the campground are right next to highway 40. If you are sensitive to traffic noise, which I am, this is not the place for you. The traffic is very loud during the day and remains pretty constant throughout the night. Even with my White Noise app going I was unable to sleep. I would consider staying here again if I could rent a site near the back of the park.
A quiet park with various things to do. People are nice. Laundry room has 2 front load washers with other top loaders as well. The park has 3 sections. Dog run area and various dog poo disposal areas around the park. All sections offer lots for sale. The restaurant ☕️🍴is in the park that offers great food. Google this on google maps to see a top view. Publix is 6 miles toward Ocala. Winn dixie is opposite. This is a 🚧gated community.
