What is Worth Choosing Wildwood Acres Campground
Choosing Wildwood Acres Campground means opting for an authentic, high-value Nebraska camping experience. This campground truly stands out for several key reasons that cater to both budget-conscious travelers and those seeking a full range of recreational activities.
First and foremost is the exceptional value and affordability. With competitive nightly rates for both RV/electric sites ($15.00) and tent sites ($10.00), it represents one of the most cost-effective options for extended stays or quick weekend trips in the region. The cabin rate of just $35.00 per night provides an outstanding bargain for those who prefer a solid roof over their head.
Secondly, the sheer volume of on-site amenities is unparalleled for a campground of this type. Having a public swimming pool, baseball diamond, multiple playgrounds, tennis/basketball courts, disc golf, and picnic pavilions all within an "easy stone's throw" of your campsite creates a resort-like feel without the resort price tag. This makes Wildwood Acres particularly ideal for family reunions, group events, and large gatherings, as the infrastructure is already in place for coordinated fun and relaxation.
Finally, the local accessibility and friendly community enhance the overall experience. The short distance to Verdigre means campers are never far from necessary supplies or the chance to meet the "super friendly and very helpful" locals. The lazy Verdigre Creek running through the grounds provides a peaceful, natural backdrop, completing the perfect picture of a Nebraska outdoor retreat. While some campsite pads may be snug for the largest rigs, the overall welcoming atmosphere, the range of recreational features, and the unbeatable pricing make Wildwood Acres Campground a choice destination for any Nebraskan looking to enjoy the great outdoors.

Great place! I stayed the last week of Feb. Water was off in the wash room and pool was closed due to cold weather. Looking around, I saw the following: two cabins, maybe 20 sites with electric, two playgrounds, two pavilions, swimming pool, baseball diamond, tennis/basketball courts, horseshoe/cornhole pitch, disc golf course, and Verdigre Creek runs through the campsites. A five minute drive into Verdigre gets you a grocery, hardware, car repair, bar, library, bank, etc. Ten minutes drive gets you to the convenience store and gas, or Lutheran, Catholic, or Methodist, churches. This would be a great place for family reunions, outdoor wedding receptions, or just enjoying a week outside. Everybody in town was super friendly and very helpful!
I would have given this nice little campground a 5-star rating, but I felt the 8 foot pads were a little bit too small. To be fair, they have placed a handful of larger pads throughout, but it would be insanely cramped for larger units to maneuver and even turn their rigs around. $15.00 per night for campers. $10.00 a night for tents. Cabins ran $35.00 a night. They did have a men's and women's toilet building (flush or hole?) the building was locked and we couldn't use it. They have 30 amp electric, 1 location to obtain water (communal water spigot), 1 picnic table per site, garbage buckets provided for nearly all sites. Oak trees provide shade from the sun. One has to look up though, we saw several locations where larger dead and broken branches were just hanging on by a thread. They have 2 cabins that are available. The entire campground is an easy stones throw from the city swimming pool. There are 2 large picnic pavillions, electricity is provided. Walking trails are available (we did not walk on them this trip). There is a lazy little creek that meanders around the outskirts of the campgrounds. Playground equipment in 3 locations for the kids. Large fields for other playing around. We didn't need a dump site, and I'm sorry, I didn't think to look to see if they had one. They may have one, and I think I would have noticed it if they had, but take this with a grain of salt. Town is just down the road a half mile or so, and most needs can be met there.
We just made a pit stop here. Clean restrooms😀
Beautiful small town campground. Sites under oak trees swimming pool and restrooms were shut down due to covid so it goes. FYI keep your gear locked up. Ours was stolen guess someone needed it more than we did. Hope they enjoy the grill with a serious gas leak!!
Cute little campground nestled into the side of a riverbed. No sites right on the water, but private and large sites. No sewer.
