Wildwood Campground has earned a reputation for its quiet, welcoming atmosphere. Visitors consistently praise the "friendly and helpful hosts," who are known for being very accommodating. This personal touch is a significant draw, making campers feel right at home from the moment they arrive. It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax, away from the hustle and bustle, and enjoy the sounds of nature. As one reviewer noted, the campground offers a "cute spot with the small lake view," adding to the tranquil ambiance.
For those traveling in RVs, Wildwood Campground offers essential hookups to ensure a comfortable stay. While navigating a larger rig, such as a 37-foot fifth wheel, might be "a little scary getting in," as one guest mentioned, it's certainly manageable, and the effort is rewarded with a pleasant experience. The campground provides water and electric hookups at many of its sites, and even some limited sewer hookups. This ensures that most of your modern camping needs are met, allowing you to enjoy your time without unnecessary worries.
Cleanliness and convenience are also priorities here. Wildwood Campground features a restroom with a shower and flush toilet on each side, offering a much-appreciated comfort in a rustic setting. These facilities are kept clean, adding to the overall positive experience. The campground also offers a mix of "shady spots and some in sun," allowing campers to choose the environment that best suits their preferences. This variety, coupled with sites that are "not right on top of each other," provides a sense of space and privacy that many campers cherish.
Beyond the campground itself, Wildwood's location is a major highlight for outdoor enthusiasts. It’s in a "nice location to be able to get out for good hiking and trips to Lake Superior." This means you're perfectly positioned to explore the vast network of trails in the surrounding area or venture out to the magnificent shores of Lake Superior, which is a true gem of our state. The area also boasts direct access to ATV trails, making it an excellent base for off-road adventures.
And for those of us with four-legged family members, you'll be happy to know that Wildwood Campground is "dog friendly," allowing your canine companions to join in on the Northwoods fun. This inclusive policy makes it an even more appealing choice for many Wisconsin families. With a fair amount of seasonal campers, Wildwood also offers a sense of community for those who return year after year, further cementing its role as a beloved local camping spot.

While the road leading in might feel "a little scary" for very large rigs due to its design, it is manageable for most RVs, and the peaceful environment upon arrival makes the effort worthwhile. The "no highway noise" aspect highlighted by guests further confirms its tranquil setting, despite its proximity to a main route.
For outdoor enthusiasts, the direct access to ATV trails from the campground is a significant advantage, allowing riders to hit the trails without needing to trailer their vehicles elsewhere. Nice little campground, owner was very accommodating. Was a little scary getting our 37 foot fifth wheel in but managed to. Cute spot with the small lake view
Great place to camp. Friendly and helpful hosts. Spots not right on top of each other. There are some shady spots and some in sun. There are a fair amount of seasonal campers there. A restroom with one shower and one flush toilet for each side. Nice location to be able to get out for good hiking and trips to Lake Superior. Dog friendly.
My wife and I and dogs had a wonderful stay at Wildwood, it was quiet, clean and well maintained. Carl and Sandy the owners are great. We would highly recommend this gem in the woods!
Owner was very helpful and kind. The place is small and peaceful with a very pretty lake. Probably will never be back because of just passing through but highly recomend.
Sandy and Carl were so welcoming and gracious. Sandy offered great directions to the campground and answered all of the questions I had. They showed us right to our site and gave us some wood to start our campfire. The facilities are clean and well-maintained. We will definitely be stopping here again on our annual trip to the boundary waters!
