Went into Mule Mountains from Rt. 78, definitely not for anything but 4x4. Can be sandy or loose gravel through washes and high centered. Entering Wiley's Well Rd. from I-10 is better option for 2 wheel drive.
Epic campground. I always wanted to go out here to explore this area and finally got the opportunity. Amazing well-kept location.
LTVA. Long Term Visitors Area. West of Quartzsite off I-10 about an hour with last 8 miles a dirt road. Seasonal from 9/15 to 4/15. Fire pits, covered picnic tables, garbge containers and pit toilets. No potable water. Beautiful place if you like the far out Van life. Also has a small trading library and a no water dump site nearby.
well kept and wonderful off the beaten track camp ground with a very lovely, social community of long term campers meeting up each day at 3 pm for happy hour. the camp host is the lovely soul of this place that offers shade, a little water and everything from humming birds to tarantulas and rattle snakes (though i only got the latter as rumors)
Great for winter camping.
A quiet spot. A 4x4 is NOT needed to get here. There are bathrooms and tables at each site. There are long term residents and it's about $180 for 6 moths here. Good for RVs. Connects to a lot of off reading trails.
