It’s about 45 minutes from the beaten path. If you’re going to be traveling into the this area would recommend you take a 4 Wheel drive instead of a Toyota Camry. There are lots of large rocks in the road that need to be maneuvered around which could easily tear up the bottom of your vehicle if you were not extremely careful. When we are traveling to this particular campground we are in a vehicle that has 14 to 16 inches of clearance and we don’t hit any of the rocks. I would also be careful to watch for vehicles that are traveling quickly upper down the road.

This campground is currently only great because of the views, the campground its self is a mess. It has been destroyed by careless campers. The wood from the tables and benches have been ripped apart (likely used as firewood by someone). The steel fire pits have are bent and destroyed. And lots of trash around due to idiots that think someone will clean up their mess after they leave. Once upon a time, this was probably a great stop to stay the night, not anymore...

Beautiful place with two fire-pits and what looks like a spring. There is a pond less than 1/2 mile away, and to hike to Ben Lomond Peak is less than 3 miles. Beautiful drive to reach, but the road is treacherous.
