Wind in Pines

We were invited to photograph a small Quaker wedding ceremony here at the Wind-in-Pines on Sebago Lake. The setting felt like what you might imagine as a grown-ups summer camp. Canoes, Floats, Trees, Dancing under the stars, Pie with your friends in the big meeting house... it was so fun.

The most wonderful place in all of Maine. We go every summer we can since 1955. It is heaven on earth. Rustic and homey. So much fun. The beach is wonderful, sandy and very safe for little ones. The water is so clean and soft.My family loves this place. An excellent place to "Unplug" and wind down. Go every chance I get!

We have had the pure pleasure of staying at Wind in Pines for many, many years. We truly relax in this magical place. Cabins are simple, clean, and the kayaks/canoes are fun to use. Phyllis has her Ice Cream Social every week, and the kids love it: Generations of kids! A room full of books, puzzles, and games are available on site and the renters are all very friendly. It reminds me of living in the fifties, when things were simpler, quieter and good behavior was expected by all. It all adds up to a true vacation for us. Wifi is available for all renters. We drive all the way from Virginia, so you KNOW we love it!

I know the owner Phyllis Burnham personally and she strives to make everyone's stay as comfortable as possible and will go out of her way to do so. Her cabins are fully equip with everything you need from extra blankets to a room with games, kitchen utensils and even high chairs for anything you may have forgotten. The lake is beautiful and always kept clean. She lives on the premises so ANYTHING you need day or night she is happy to help out. My husband has worked summers there since he was about 13 doing all kinds of jobs, cleaning, repairs and odd jobs. He used to open and close down the property and he knows firsthand how much Phyllis truly cares about making her visitors comfortable and happy. She is a kind and hard working woman. We've had the wonderful opportunity to swim at the beach ( we have 4 daughters) and we've stayed in a cabin for a few nights and it was the best time we've had! We live in Maine luckily so we can enjoy all the lakes and scenery Maine has to offer yet when we stayed at wind in pines it was like we were someplace else. Someplace beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. I didn't want to go home! Neither did the kiddos. There are also canoes and beach toys for your enjoyment. I am planning to get married there. I might've called my fiancee my husband as we've been together almost 10 years and have the kids but we're not officially married yet. When we do get married it will be there, on the beach and celebrate in the biggest cabin which is just beautiful! I can't stress enough how great wind in pines is to anyone either from away or even from Maine and just want to escape for a bit. There's also a convenient store, family dollar and laundry mat right across the street and about a 5 minute drive to windham wal mart and lots of other resturaunts or stores which is very nice. A family tradition. We have been coming here for over twenty years. Wind In Pines is easy to get to, situated just off of the Roosevelt Trail (Route 302) in Raymond, Maine. Though close to its neighbors, it has the air of a welcoming sanctuary where children can play outside and walking is the easiest way to get around. There are a range of accommodations, scaled to the size of the attending group. This a place that is perfect for couples or families, and is dog-friendly (though a modest fee is added). Wind-In-Pines boasts 450 feet of private sand beach on the eastern side of Sebago’s Jordan Bay. Swimming, canoeing and kayaking are all available. The sunsets are amazing. The Burnhams are superb hosts. The cabins are rustic but well appointed. Amenities include kitchens with electric stoves, microwaves, refrigerator/freezers, ample hot water and WiFi. Several of the cabins have wood fireplaces. The cabins are diligently maintained. On the rare occasion that we have encountered a problem, a word to management has evoked prompt and courteous corrective action by the staff. Full marks.
