Tucked beneath dramatic sandstone cliffs, Windwhistle Campground provides a peaceful setting for those looking to escape the crowds and immerse themselves in the beauty of the desert. The campsite is situated near several Bureau of Land Management (BLM) sites, offering access to hiking trails, wildlife viewing, and unforgettable sunsets.
The campground offers basic amenities, including fire pits (firewood available for purchase) and vault toilets. While there are no hookups or water for RVs, the site provides a water spigot for drinking purposes. Campsites are limited in number but offer ample space to enjoy the great outdoors.

Needles Overlook is breathtaking.. this is more than a place to stretch your legs. South on Hwy191. There are several BLM campsites that are in the area. I stayed here. Its an amazing place to spend the night. Continue diwn the road to see the overlook! Watch sunset, sleep then watch the desert come alive with the morning breeze.
Great place to camp. Reasonable price and this location is one of the few in the area that has a water spigot. However, it is not for refilling your RV. The scenery is sandstone clips overlooking sagebrush Prairie to distant high-rise geology around Moab. The campsites are basically nestled underneath the sandstone cliffs. There are areas for campfires, but no wood is available. Several vault toilets on the site, limited number of camp Spaces. Some of the RVs were running generators.
Great campground, but pretty far from most area attractions. Partial shade for most sites. Lots of area to explore/climb behind the campground, including a dirt nature trail loop (accessible through the group site) with educational signage - don't miss it if you have 20+ minutes to spend! Vault toilets were clean. Water is available. No tent pads, but each site has a table and fire ring. Most sites are fairly secluded from each other. For our mid-May stay, we had some periods of sustained moderate wind in the evenings and at night, but also periods of total calm. We didn't stay at the group site but it looked really nice, set right up against the rock face. Would stay again.
Spent 5 nights here while exploring Arches, Canyonlands and Moab in October 2020. BEAUTIFUL views, easy on/off highway(6 miles paved), and very quiet/secluded campground. We werent sure whether to stay here or at one of the campgrounds in Moab and after seeing how crowded Moab was, VERY pleased we stayed here. Seemed like the spots fill up by Thursday around 3 or 4 for the weekend. Saw a lot of cars driving in looking for spots on Fri/Sat. Bathrooms were clean, sites were well manicured. Cell service with Verizon was spotty but who needs it with a place like this
Campground is nice. Water was off when I was there. No cell signal. Overall nice campground for a day or two.
