Would like to comment about the dog friendly. Witch meadow has always been dog friendly. If you take car of your dog. They (and all the people camping) do NOT!!!!!want to hear your dog barking. They also want you to keep your dog at your site so it doesn't make other dogs bark in the campground. They clearly state this in their rules. If you cannot follow the rules it is your problem not theirs. Witch meadow has always been a great campground. I have camped there for many years.

Would not recommend this campground for dog owners, despite the claim of being a doc friendly campground. This is the only campground I’ve ever been to where you not permitted to walk your dog other than in the dog walking area. Also, the rules say you may not leave pets unattended at any time. So you can’t bring your dog anywhere, or leave them unattended. If we had been informed of this, we certainly would not have booked here.

Although I have not visited this campground, I can honestly say I NEVER will! Why??? Dog “unfriendly”! I will continue camping at Odetah because they are dog friendly. I can’t imagine who made the dog rules at this campground…. obviously someone that does not have a dog, and if they do, I feel bad for that animal. Read the reviews, you’ll see this is a common complaint!

Great quiet place. Very clean and well kept grounds. Mostly seasonals here but they were all very nice. Sites were all clean and organized. People in the camp store were great as well. The lake is very nice with a nice swimming area. One of the better campgrounds we've been to in a long time. Will be back.

I'm giving a low rating, even though I haven't been there, because their rules would prevent me from enjoying my time there. I'm a solo tent camper and initially chose this place because it looks really nice on the website. Reviewers said it was lovely and very clean. But I have a dog. The rules say they are dog friendly, but I read further. Their pet rules would be impossible for me to follow. The rules are standard, except for the last one: Dogs must stay on your site ; Guests must clean up after them. Also, pets may not be left on the site unattended. All these are completely reasonable rules. The last rule surprised me...and I did not see it before reserving my spot. Dogs are not allowed on camp roads. Guests may only use a specific dog trail in the woods. How a solo camper would get the dog there without walking on camp roads is a mystery. A reviewer said they had been spoken to when walking their leashed dog on a campground road in quite an aggressive manner. This is not so reasonable. In fact it shows deep dog unfriendliness. So how would a solo camper enjoy the amenties? How would I enjoy the beach or the pool, etc. I would not be able to attend the band performance, since my dog cant go or be left alone. The band was my main reason for the trip, as the band members are friends. And finally, the last straw: If I were to follow the rules, I would not even be able to use the restroom. No taking my dog with me or leaving her on my site. That's ridiculous, and was the dealbreaker for me. Decided to stay home and lose what I had paid...no refunds, of course. Sure, I could leave my dog at a kennel, buti have camped with her lots of times with no problems. I will not reserve again. Too dog unfriendly.
