Customer Reviews
My wife and I did a quick hike on the War Eagle Trail at Withrow Springs State Park. A 30 minute drive from Fayetteville on Hwy 23 N, just 4 miles from Huntsville. Three fairly easy trails ranging from 3/4 mile to 2.5 miles. Beautiful Ozark scenery. See below for amenities and additional information. - 786 acres - 3 trails ranging from. 3/4th mile to 2.5 miles - camping facilities - swimming pool - lots of picnic tables - A very nice pavilion available for rental The War Eagle Trail is a 1.5 mile loop with a 1/3rd mile spur. The loop is relatively flat and easy to walk, it's wooded and has several nice views of the area. The spur is 1/3rd mile + down then back up so plan on just shy of a mile up and down rocky terrain. It has several nice overlook views of War Eagle Creek and access to the creek at the bottom. #ExploringSunday #AdventuresWithVeronica #PrettyLilGreenEyedPea
Beautiful State Park. Very nice camper/RV sites with water & electric hookups. A couple have sewer on site. Level pads & spaced so you aren't right on top of your neighbors. Wooded & well maintained. Kudos to the keepers of this nice park. We will definitely be coming back to enjoy more of what this beautiful state park has to offer.
We went in the spring in late April. The bathrooms were nice amd clean. Campground was nice amd quiet. We were next to the road tho, next time we go id like to get a spot that wasn't next to the road. We had spot 14.
This state park is beautiful. The camping facilities are excellent with a newer, clean bathhouse. The ten walk-in tent sites (paved concrete) have large gravel pads and fireplace rings. Three very nice nature trails are also in the park... highly recommended!
We enjoyed a weekend with family at this State Park. It's not one of the better known parks, which means less traffic and easier reservations. The campground has NO cell phone reception, but a quick drive up the hill to the Visitor's Center or Pool solved that problem. The pool does cost $6+ tax per person per day, AND they only accept cash. They have some basic snacks and drinks, but have more cash. The Interpreter programs were kid-friendly and informative, although we were told those are only offered seasonally.
