Wolf Creek Campground Introduce

Welcome to Wolf Creek Campground, a serene and rustic camping destination nestled in the heart of Pollock Pines, California. As a part of the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, Wolf Creek offers a unique outdoor experience for nature enthusiasts and families alike. Located at a convenient address, you can reach them at (530) 644-2324 or +1 530-644-2324 for inquiries and reservations.

Environment and Location:

Wolf Creek Campground provides a more intimate and natural camping environment compared to larger, more modern campgrounds in the area. Situated close to the lake, most campsites offer easy access to the water, allowing for enjoyable lakeside activities. The beach area, while accessible, features sharp rocks and dirt, adding to the rustic charm. The surrounding area is known to be bear territory, so campers are advised to store food and trash properly in the provided bear boxes.

Services and Features:

  • Campsites: Each campsite is equipped with a grill, a bear box (brown vault), a picnic table, and a fire pit, providing essential amenities for a comfortable stay.
  • Facilities: The campground offers pit toilets, which, while functional, may have cleanliness issues. It's recommended to bring your own toilet paper as supplies can run out.
  • Waste Management: Dumpsters are available for garbage disposal, and there are recycling bins for cans, though they may fill up quickly.
  • Lake Access: Easy access to the lake allows for swimming and other water activities, although the water can be chilly, especially in early July.

Customer Experiences:

Based on customer reviews, Wolf Creek Campground offers a quiet and enjoyable camping experience. The camp host is noted for being friendly and ensuring noise levels are kept down after 10 PM. The campsites are generally clean, and the bear boxes are adequately sized for coolers and food storage. However, some customers have noted cleanliness issues with the bathrooms and the flaking paint on picnic tables. Wildlife, including Western Toads, can be observed around the shore at night, adding to the natural experience.

Promotional Information:

For those seeking a more authentic and less crowded camping experience, Wolf Creek Campground is an excellent choice. Its proximity to the lake and essential amenities make it a desirable destination for both short and extended stays. While it may not offer all the modern conveniences of larger campgrounds, its rustic charm and natural setting provide a memorable outdoor adventure. Remember to be mindful of bear activity and plan accordingly to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. We look forward to welcoming you to Wolf Creek Campground!

Spot 7! All spots are nice and close to the lake. Bear territory so put alllll things away at night and clean up all food/throw trash away. They come out as early as 10pm! Nice and quiet we will be back. Bathrooms clean and they do have TP. All spots have grill, bear box (brown vault), picnic table and fire pit. Very clean camp ground and friendly

We much prefer this side of the lake to the larger campgrounds like Sunset and Wench. Wolf creek isn't as "modern" but I think it better matches the camping atmosphere. We were in the lower loop section (site 28) but all the sites are close to the water. The beach is decent with easy access but plenty of sharp rocks and dirt. Early July the water is still a bit chilly but feels great on a warm day. Western Toads come out at night around the shore so check them out if you like. The camp host was nice and made the rounds after 10pm to make sure everyone was keeping the noise down. Obviously it will be very hit or miss with the type of people camping but everyone was very respectful and quiet at night. Bathrooms are pits with only one stall. They were pretty gross. Dirty floors, tons of flies, poop under the seats, mystery stains on the top of the seats/lid. Toilet paper was out a few times as well so make sure you have some of your own. There are dumpsters for garbage and recycling for cans (although since nobody crushes their cans, they're always full). The campsites: The bear boxes are large (larger than yellowjacket but a little smaller than sunset) but you should be able to fit any size cooler(s) plus any other food/smelly stuff. There's a fire ring and stand alone grill plus a large table. Our table's paint was terrible and flaking off in big chunks. The paint chips would get stuck to anything wet or get jammed under your fingernails. Overall we definitely enjoyed our stay and will most likely return. It's not perfect but its camping anyway

What a wonderful campground! Sites are spacious, and many have lake views. The setting is beautifully forested and peaceful.

This place is amazing, the beautiful scenic views were to die for and the people were so friendly. Especially John and Bonnie who helped us out when were driving around for hours looking for a first come first campsite. Honestly couldn’t find a better place to camp out with your family! From your friendly campers on site #39.

This is a pretty good place to camp. We went this past weekend. Beautuful and the lake is accessible from every campsite. Bathrooms are simply dump style. Pretty nasty, but at least there were some! We had a big group of 11 kids and 7 adults and 4 campsites. I reserved 3 and when we got there we realized that they were too far away from eachother. The camphosts allowed us to switch, so they were all together, since there were PLENTY of walk in spots still available, that don't show up for reservations. The only reason I would give it 4 instead of 5 is because the camphost was a crack head and came flying into our campsite just after 10 pm 1 night, yelling at us while we were playing a game with the kids! He scared the hell out of everyone, when it was really unnecessary. He only needed to tell us to be quiet. So that was a bummer. But, they never bothered us any other night... Also, only 1 car allowed per site and they come around and charge you for more, even though they're parked IN THE SITES! Crystal Basin website, says there are 2 cars allowed, like every other camp ground SO? That needs to be fixed. Mostly a good campground and we had tons of fun! We'll still go back.

Wolf Creek is one of our favorite campgrounds, the lake is awesome and the park is so peaceful. We camp here as often as possible and enjoy daily walks, fishing or just hanging out relaxing the day away.
