This is a unique camping experience- no frills camping at a farm/ education center. We loved it. We had a spacious grassy spot in the West Bay. It was very quiet at night. There were lots of well marked trails, and the nearby State Park has additional trails. The campground is exceptionally dog-friendly, with water stations and dog bowls and dog waste stations everywhere. From our camp site, we could see out into the bay and hear the birds, see the fishing bosts, and watch seals and bald eagles trying to snatch some fish. Bathrooms were clean and showers were hot. Rules support the mission and the experience. If you are not up for dirt roads, slow driving, no WiFi and very limited generator use, this is not the place for you.
We got there in the evening. We called beforehand and nobody answered, but there was a message saying that they were open from 8AM to 8PM. We got there at 7PM and nobody was there. At the check-in tent, there wasn’t anyone but it said that if we got there after hours and didn’t have a reservation, we could reserve online for the night, which we did. We ended up staying the night on a tent campground with no services. It was spacious and away from the wind. Only inconvenient was the massive rock in the entrance of our campground which made us unable to access the campground by car (we didn’t have a pickup truck of a suv so i guess i we had this type or car, it would’ve been fine). We were able to park just before the entrance and everything was fine. It was a good stay even though we didn’t have any service or interaction with employees.
Came here on a family vacation & stayed for 7 nights. We stayed on the waterfront sites which were nice & had a cool breeze for July! The sites were a decent size, not huge. We have a sprinter van and found a nice level spot to park. The camp store is cute and Freeport is 20 minutes away. Bathrooms were up to par with a campground and were cleaned several times a day.
We recently stayed at the campground in a tent at one of the ocean view sites. We normally camp at State Parks as we like the amenities and privacy that usually comes with being in the woods. We chose Wolfe's Neck as we have young children and loved the novelty of staying on a farm is fun, as well as being so close to the beach. Pros -Beautiful clean beach, especially fun to explore at low tide. -The activities at the farm were fun. -Cute farm shop. -Extremely dog friendly. Cons -Sites are extremely small and exposed, no privacy at all. It felt like we were on top of each other. -Toilet facilities need an upgrade, our spot had a porta pottie or a wooden shack. The shack had no lights in after dark which could be an issue for small kids, also no sinks to wash hands, just hand sanitizer. -The sites are very close to the road. Beautiful location and a fun novelty to be on a farm, but I expected more for the price we paid. We will stick to state park campgrounds from now on.
This is easily one of the best campsites I've ever been to. The staff is very friendly and informative. The facilities are also very well taken care of. The bathrooms by the tents are out houses, but are very very clean and updated. Feels like a real bathroom. The firewood they sell is actually the same price as the grocery store and a much better quality. I recommending buying your firewood from them. The campsites are all beautfil. we stayed in the 300s along the ocean. Although it was a rainy weekend we really had a great time.
Loved this campsite! Friendly staff and convenient camp store, free showers, dog friendly, easy to book online. Potable water spigots located all over the grounds. The oceanfront spot I booked was large and very private. Fire pits at all sites as well.
Staff abusing animals on numerous occasions. Throwing chickens in crates. Rough with goats and young’s. Staff doesn’t really seem to care. We will no longer stay here.
