The lodge is tucked in the woods, right by the lake. The view of the lake was amazing. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Our room had two Queen beds, TV and bathroom with a shower. The mattress and pillows were so so comfortable and I hadn’t sleep that good in a very long time. I would love to get those pillows for my own bed at home. The AC was located inside the bathroom which was not a problem I just turned it off until after I showered. There was an outdoor kitchen and sitting area. Annie, was very helpful and always returned our text messages in a timely manner. The restaurants she recommended for us had the best food. I would 100% recommend Wood Creek Lodge for your Kentucky getaway.
Took a group of men and boys from church to WOLF Creek Lodge for a couple of days. Everyone had a great time fishing and kayaking. The outdoor kitchen was amazing for a group like ours.
I absolutely recommend Wood Creek Lodge! The lodge has new owners and was newly renovated, clean, beautifully decorated. The outdoor kitchen was fully stocked, fire pits and a grill were also available. My room was very comfortable, clean, smelled fresh. The lodge is located in the woods, right at the lake, the view is amazing! It's a very peaceful place. Kayaks were available to use.
Rebecca was kind enough to set me up with a room at 11pm, however, the room smelled terrible, like urine and mold (woke up wheezing a bit with conjunctivitis, definitely mold issues), the floor was extremely weak in certain areas, and there were bugs in the room. I was bit by something a few times on my legs and hands. The door has a gap around the whole thing, which is probably why. It's a beautiful place but needs work. I was also charged for the bunk room ($137) but there were no bunks and the pillows were absolutely terrible, bring your own. Nobody was in the next room over (The Patriot Room) which was ($110), and surely it would have smelled better? I think it would have been nice to have the choice of rooms but I felt forced to take the room I was given. Sorry to say all this but I'm a little grossed out and perturbed by the situation and feel that others need to know.
Wood Creek Lodge is close to home but felt like we were a million miles away. We love visiting Kentucky Lake's and have NEVER experienced genuine hospitality like this before. We drove 2 hours to a lake that most people have never heard of because we seen a photo of this beautiful lodge by the lake. Rebecca, I felt like I took a 10 hour plane ride and landed at your property. Keep it a hidden gem. Anyone who goes there wants it all to themselves!
