Location and Accessibility

Wooded Hill Group Campground is conveniently located at Wooded Hill Rd, County Rte S1, Mt Laguna, CA 91948, USA. This prime location places it within the Laguna Mountain Recreation Area of the Cleveland National Forest, approximately 50 miles east of San Diego. Its accessibility makes it a highly desirable destination for Californians, particularly those residing in Southern California.

To reach the campground from San Diego, simply take I-8 East to the Sunrise Highway (County Road S1) exit. From there, head north on Sunrise Highway for approximately 8.1 miles, then turn west onto Wooded Hill Road. The campground entrance is well-marked and easily found. The roads leading to and within the campground are generally well-maintained, accommodating both cars and RVs. While there are no RV hookups, the site offers ample parking spurs suitable for trailers and RVs (with maximum spur lengths varying from 20-40 ft.). The relatively straightforward drive and clear directions ensure that your group can arrive and set up camp with minimal hassle, allowing more time to enjoy the mountain environment. This ease of access, combined with the cooler mountain temperatures at an elevation of 6,000 feet, makes Wooded Hill a perfect escape from the summer heat of lower elevations.

One group campsite with endless possibilities! It only allows for one reservation, but the campsite is huge! Easy access from Sunrise Hwy. it has pit toilets, but they are very clean and well maintained. Water faucets all around camp and two trash dumpsters for all your trash. It has a large fire pit in the middle of camp, surrounded by trees, creating a large shaded area. There are several hiking and mountain bike trails around camp. It does get a bit hot during peak summer. Overall it is a great place to camp!
