You need to book well in advance for water views, but all sites are nice and well maintained. Our bathhouse was exceptionally clean, the and unisex showers are large, accessible, with plenty of hot water. We were here in September, and it was wonderfully quiet with courteous campers. The beach is outstanding and kept clean. We got lucky and found yooperlight rocks our first night here, but you need the right flashlight 🔦b. Read reviews carefully before buying.

A great campground centrally located in the middle of the U.P. and right on the bank of Lake Superior. The campground offers everything from showers, laundry, full hookups, and even tent sites. My only complaint is how close the sites were to one another. It still wouldn't stop me from camping here, but it would've been nice not to be on top of the sites next to me. If you're a coffee lover, don't miss out on the "Dream Bean" located within walking distance just across the street.

We had a wonderful time camping here! It is right on Lake Superior. Decent view from the lakefront campsites, obstructed a bit by trees. Lots of stairs to get down to the beach. Lots of great rocks for rock hunting! One downside was that some sites are quite small. The picture was site 34. Internet reception was quite good with our starlink mini. Easy to bike or walk into town for dinner or shopping. Very dog friendly!

A very well maintained campground in Grand Marais outside Pictured Rocks National lakeshore. If you have an RV or sleeping in your vehicle: a great location by the lake but if in tent: would not suggest as the wind speeds are way too high around 17mph and 35 mph gusts. Damn breezy cold, over tent even did a barell roll while we were having dinner, so lookout for alternatives as well. But the restrooms and showers are crystal clean and very well maintained. Not to forget, great place to stargaze!
