My husband and I love to go camping. We tried this place and it was great. The lake was very beautiful and we were able to fish on the lake. Britney was very kind and helpful and assisted with fire wood and ice as needed. First camping site we been to that delivers fire wood and ice when you call. We loved this place and will definitely return.
**Update 2024** we've since come back four other times and it has been amazing camping here each and every time. Cannot recommend this campground more. Huge thank you to Megan and Brittney for taking such good care of us!!!! Awesome campground. We stayed over the July 4th weekend and it was by far the most quiet campground we've visited during a holiday. We stayed in a RV site and it was spacious, had a nice concrete pad with picnic table and an adjacent fire pit. Plenty of room for our 26' travel trailer and we appreciated all of the abundant trees and plants that gave our site such a beautiful ambiance. It was a 10 minute drive to mountain creek to ride our mountain bikes at their downhill park, and close to several towns when we needed supplies (or dinner!). A huge shout out to Brittany for being so kind, helpful and welcoming over the duration of our stay. We will definitely be back, hopefully at the end of August! Thank you again for a fantastic stay.
I don’t have many photos of this place. I am an old timey camper and i like to bring tents and sleep on the ground. I don’t recommend going to this place though. I’m not to chill when it comes to insects. I guess i should have seen this coming. This place is great… if you bring a trailer. There are (wooly worms) falling from the trees and crawling on you every second without no peace. They get on your tent and there are bears out there to. It is a legit campsite. So if you want to experience the true wild go here but it is very annoying and disgusting. They crawl on your food and fall on it, they leave spikes on your food as well. They are not poisonous but i did see a poisonous one. Now the water supply is drinkable but has ton of dirt in it so I recommend bringing a filter. Lots of people brought trailers… they were smart. This place isn’t luxury, it is literally bieng out in the wild. Now i am a soft person so i cant camp like this. But alot of people don’t care. If your looking to get out your house and camp and your from the city or suburbs, i recommend you look at reviews before going. Theres a lake but no life guard plus the lake is nasty, which is obvious because there are no pipes running through to make it clean. The bathrooms are dirty and disgusting, they are probably cleaned once a month. If you are going here sit tight because there is not much space to hike. So good luck sitting by the fire the entire time. You could bring a trailer and barbecue, have fun, and party. But if you can’t afford it don’t go here. Just saving you the trouble of having to go through with that. By the way service is great and everything else is. But its hard to settle in with just a couple tents, lights, stove and more.
My stay was in the end of April for two days for the Spartan Race weekend. I paid for a campsite (C14). The weekend of my stay had rain in the forecast both days. I tied a tarp (10 ft x 20 ft) for cover and it worked perfectly. The groundskeeper was very welcoming and professional. I paid for firewood and she hand delivered it to the campsite. She also mentioned that ice is also delivered if needed. Great service. The bathrooms are tiled with toilet, sink, and shower. Great experience overall.
Best campground I've found yet. Rates are reasonable. Staff is friendly and accommodating, and will do anything to make your stay a memorable one. On site delivery for ice and firewood is very convenient. Facilities and snack bar are extremely clean and well maintained as were the campsites and porta-johns. An extra star for their fire pits! They're not the traditional small "tire rim" fire rings you normally find at campgrounds, they're actually large and built from local stone. For those who don't have water at their site, there are many locations around the campground to access water. The lake is very nice and the beach looks to be well maintained as well. Overall an extremely pleasant and enjoyable campground to visit. My compliments to the entire staff for a job well done and making Woodland Trails my "go to" campground in the future.
