Woodland Trails Resort Introduce

**Introduction / Overview: Your Peaceful Retreat on Strawberry Lake**

For Minnesota families and outdoor enthusiasts seeking a quiet, authentic Northwoods experience, the **Woodland Trails Resort** offers an idyllic blend of seclusion and modern convenience. Situated on over **170 acres** of tree-lined, peaceful terrain, this resort is located near Ogema, approximately 22 miles northeast of Detroit Lakes. It holds the unique distinction of being the **only resort located on Strawberry Lake**, a stunning, 1,620-acre body of water renowned among local anglers and nature lovers. We Minnesotans know the value of a quiet lake, and Strawberry Lake is celebrated for its excellent walleye fishing and a water clarity that consistently ranks in the top one percent of all lakes in the state—a testament to its spring-fed nature. This crystal-clear water is a major draw for swimming, paddling, and enjoying the view.

Woodland Trails Resort successfully caters to two primary groups of visitors: those looking for the classic, cozy Minnesota cabin experience, and those seeking long-term seasonal RV camping. The resort environment is designed to maximize tranquility; guests can often enjoy the vastness of Strawberry Lake in virtual seclusion, especially during the weekdays. This focus on peace and nature is complemented by the dedicated hospitality of the staff—as noted in a customer review, management, like **Dawn**, is known for being "helpful and accommodating," ensuring every stay is comfortable and welcoming. Whether you are seeking a simple weekend getaway in a lakeside cabin or a permanent seasonal spot for your RV, Woodland Trails provides a serene, high-quality base for exploring the Northwest region's beautiful lake country.

**Location and Accessibility: A Hidden Gem Near Ogema**

Woodland Trails Resort is purposefully nestled away from the hustle of major tourist hubs, allowing it to maintain its secluded, tranquil atmosphere. The official address is **33616 Loon Dr, Ogema, MN 56569, USA**. This location places the resort in Becker County, deep within Minnesota’s prime lake region, yet within a reasonable driving distance for local users. Being just 22 miles northeast of the popular city of Detroit Lakes offers the perfect balance: enough distance for genuine relaxation, but close enough to access larger stores, restaurants, and regional attractions when needed.

Accessibility is straightforward, typically involving well-maintained state and county highways leading to the final turn-off onto Loon Drive. For Minnesotans driving up for the season or a weekend, the final approach through the wooded, winding roads immediately sets a relaxing, Northwoods tone. Importantly, the resort's 172 acres of land also surrounds the lower third of the smaller **Raspberry Lake**, providing guests with access to two distinct water bodies. Furthermore, the property is committed to maintaining the integrity of its environment. As noted in customer feedback, the resort owner requires the **inspection of all boats for Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS)** upon entering Strawberry Lake. While this process requires visitor cooperation, it underscores the management's commitment to preserving the lake's "very clear and clean" condition—a vital concern for responsible Minnesota lake users.

I had such a nice stay at the Woodland Trails Resort. The cabin I was in was clean and cozy. The bed was comfortable. Dawn runs the facility and she was so helpful and accommodating. I took a refreshing dip in the lake which was very clear and clean.

Nice little swimming area but dangerously close/next to the boat launch. Tried fishing but no luck. Resort owner requires inspection of all boats for ANS entering the lake.
