Customer Reviews
This park is on the edge of being great but it's not quite there. When we arrived we were greeted by the hosts who did an excellent job of getting us settled in. Actually they told us where we would park our camper and then allowed us time to get set up. Then they showed up and made sure we were all set and didn't need anything. They were very friendly and sincere and we enjoyed meeting them. The park itself is groomed pretty well but could use some investment $ to make it more appealing. The lake and ponds need attention badly. The lake is about 2' of water with zero vegetation anywhere. The bottom is silt so if you get out of your boat you'll most likely sink down in it and die. I caught a couple bass but I can't imagine that they live through the winter in there so not sure how they are there or what they are feeding on. No baitfish, crawfish, or anything else. Kinda strange. Campsites are way too tight and if there had been other campers we would never have gotten out with our 22' travel trailer. And we were on the end with the most room. This also needs some updating. I'm local and would like to see this campground do well but they're just going to need to put more into it to make it more appealing.
This park is BEAUTIFUL. Just wish it would be taken care of better. There is a community of men staying there currently. They pee all over the bathrooms, EVEN IN THE WOMENS. The bathrooms are disgusting. The private lake is gorgeous but the goose poop has probably got that full of E-Coli. The lake only looks a foot deep because there 2+ feet of green bacteria. The pond also is full of the green sludge. I met the campground managers Barbra and John. They are the sweetest people! John offered to help take our kayaks to the lake since itโs like a mile away. And Mrs.Barbra is just the funniest sweetheart. You can talk to her all day. Also you guys seriously need to do some advertising. My family has lived in Hale for YEARS and no one knew about this place. More costumers=more money (hopefully treat your water so no one gets necrotizing fasciitis)
Absolutely beautiful place especially if you have children! So much natural fun for the kids to immerse themselves in. The Owner and staff went above and beyond to make everything comfortable and relaxing. Tent camping definitely available! Stunning Sage Lake with inexpensive boat and kayak rentals. Pond with beach, wood raft, swing and long built in ground slide!!! Woodlands Acres is a hidden gem and we are delighted to have found it ๐๐๐ We will definitely return, Thank you Woodlands Acres for having us!!!
Stayed here over Labor Day weekend. The place was amazing! The staff was super friendly and very helpful. The campgrounds, bathrooms, and other amenities were clean and kept up. The private lake was unbelievable. We will definitely be going back there.
Now under private ownership this is a great campground. The fishing lay a canvas swimming pond, numerous trails and hundreds of acres to explore. Great place for corporate get together's group outings have a really nice house to rent with a beautiful dock overlooking the lake. These pictures were taken at night off the deck of the house.
