One of my favorite places to camp in the state. Incredible views. Not sure why people on here mention the pit toilet - that's pretty standard in this part of the state. Heck, having a spigot with running water is a luxury! We've been coming here for 8 years, and always look forward to seeing the campground hosts. I heard they're moving on next year. We'll be sad to see them go.
Camp host was fabulous! He took us out in the rain to our campsite. Beautiful views! We had a phenomenal site! Bathrooms needed tending to as they smelled horrible but other than that. Great place!
Beautiful setting on good side of Lake San Cristobal. Good sites for both RV and tents. Buy firewood in town as there is none on site. Very friendly camp host. The views are gorgeous and endless. The lake is good for kayaking, SUPs and fishing at the south end. Easy access to the Alpine Loop. Wish I could go back.
Amazing view of lake and mountains. Definitely a rustic experience - pit toilets, water way up the hill from us, no showers, etc. Totally worth the $15 we spent! The views can’t be beat and the host was super friendly.
Rustic campground in a spectacular setting above Lake San Cristobal. Road in is narrow and a bit rough but we saw some pretty big 5th wheels camped in the upper campground. Really a beautiful area with access to miles of hiking trails and ATV roads that reach all the way to Silverton CO. Pit toilets, water taps, no showers and the dump station is locked so it can only be accessed when the camp host is available.
