We just stayed overnight in 20 degree weather. You are not escorted to your site which was average size. Kids will love the bowling center that has newer video games and a guy was making donuts. It was too cold to explore the park on foot but it looked nice. My only complaint is, all the overnight guests were put next to each other even though there was room to spread us out. I didn’t get sleep because our neighbors heating unit was rumbling loudly all night.
We just stayed overnight on our way south but a very nice and friendly place. We got 4 inches of snow at night, they started early in the morning clearing the roads. Awesome bath house! Very clean. We will be stopping on our way back through.
I have stayed at 38 different KOA's across the US and Canada in the last 3 years and am happy to report this is my new favorite. We stayed in the newer, lower area. - There is ample space and room for driving - Sites are larger than normal and in perfect shape (clean, high quality outlets; electrical, TV, water, sewage fittings) - The best showers and toilet facilities without question. They are new, they are clean, they are not communal. What more can you ask for. - Larger than typical dog parks and multiple of them - All of the kid amenities you want. This is the first KOA that has a batting cage and bowling so they get bonus points there! We had intended for this to just be a 1 night stay as we made our way through the area but decided to stick around longer. I can't report anything yet on the area but the KOA itself is a gem. Well done to the owners and the staff.
We stayed in a Cabin last week to celebrate Halloween with family and had a fantastic time. James and the entire staff were so welcoming. Our cabin and the bathrooms/showers were clean and nicer than I expected. Saturday was filled with fun crafts, activities, bingo, trick or treating and The Haunted House was very cool. We can't wait to come back again next year.
Stayed at Wytheville Va, KOA Holiday , these folks have a nice place…they have dropped some serious money into the campground.!! Hard packed gravel roads and site pads ,full hookups, level sites nice staff a very clean and quiet campground. If you have kids the indoor family center will be a hit ! A batting cage, 6 bowling lanes, pinball , and other electronic games a snack bar , outdoors is a putt putt course nice playgrounds and a big pool and splash pad
My husband and I stayed the weekend in a nice couple’s cabin. There was plenty of space and seating. A queen size bed, small table and chairs, a refrigerator and loveseat. The bathhouse was not too far from the cabins and kept very clean. The campground is very family friendly with an arcade, bowling lane, mini golf and lots more to do! We had a great weekend here! Definitely recommend
After ten years of camping at this KOA we pulled in today and were escorted to our site. When at the site I asked the escort why we were assigned a piece of crap site. The escort got extremely rude and said if we don’t like it to go talk to the manager. My wife politely asked for the manger to come and talk to us. Apparently the escort told the manager we insulted her and when the manager came to the site he told us to leave or he’d have the police escort us out. According to him the POS site was assigned because we made the reservation on line. The last few times we stayed here we noticed this KOA is getting run down and the employees have been increasingly rude. We left and went a few miles up the road where we go a level large site for 20.00 a night less. My recommendation is to stay as far away from this campground as possible. The worst Thousand Trails we’ve stayed at is better than the Wytheville KOA Holiday.
This is often used as a 'pass thru' campground due to it's convenient location - but this is a great destination campground. We stayed for 10 nights while visiting family in Virginia. The owners have made major upgrades in the past year, spreading out sides behind the office to make them wider (yes, wider - not closer together like everyone else). They have 6 sites with EV charging stations. The laundry and bathroom facilities are recently remodeled. They have a bowling alley & snack area with pizza and hand scooped ice cream. The pool was closed since still kinda cold out, but it was remodeled last year also. Two playgrounds, cabins and added sites up the hill if you want to be more away from things. There are golf carts available for rent. The sites are generally level, although the campground is on a hillside so they are not flat like a campground at the coast - but no issues with our 44' motorhome leveling. In fact, it barely had to adjust. The camp store/office is well stocked & clean, and every member of the staff was helpful, courteous and professional. Anytime we are passing near western VA we will stop here. They have Wi-Fi, but we used our Star Link. Verizon and AT&T were both generally 3 bars until everyone started streaming movies in the evening when the cell signal slowed down. We camped at Wytheville KOA Holiday in a Motorhome.
Great camground right off the highway. We were only here one night but they have a lot to offer. Bowling, arcade, play grounds, mini golf, panning, pizza, ice cream, pool with two slides and much more. We had site L21. The park was very clean and well manicured. The staff were nice and friendly.
This place is adorable… we needed just one night, and the front desk gentleman was the best. Easily accessible from 81 and 77. He gave us a pull through site and it accommodated our 45’er and our additional truck and trailer. This place was packed… tons for kids to do…. Pool, water slides, arcade, tent camping. We will definitely be back. Inside joke for front desk gentleman…”I love you..”. lol
