It's alright. Great views now that half the forest burnt down. The rest of road is closed, but you can hike old road and a side trail. Multiple non-yellow post camp spots on this road.

The ranger station recommended this site as one with direct views of the lake. Unfortunately, it was closed when we arrived yesterday. :(
