My two sons (7 & 5) and I just had our first "Boys Weekend" and we spent it here. What a wonderful place Camp Jackson is to have some fun and adventure. All of the staff from the Director, Douglas, thank you for being so welcoming. To Evan, I appreciate your help with the boys on the rifle range. They loved it and so did I. To Sydney for helping this 41 yr old reach the top of the climb and being so kind with the boys. Travis, thanks taking us down to the lake to go canoeing, a first for the boys. Dirk, Brie, Lyndsay and the rest, thank you for the food and entertainment. We can't wait to see ya'll again soon.
Camp Jackson was a great experience for our family. We were able to enjoy all of the wonderful adventure opportunities the camp had to offer, especially the zip lines and rope courses. The counselors and staff were all so positive and supportive with our experiences. We loved the food, the schedule, and the accommodations. Camp Jackson is in a beautiful setting with so much to offer. We can’t wait to go back this summer and be a part of the great outdoors and spend time with the Camp Jackson counselors! 😊
My two children had a wonderful time at Camp Jackson! This was their first time away from home so we were all quite nervous but they did great. I'm so thankful for this camp and all of the activities they offer, the cute cabins, the outdoor education... the experience of a lifetime. I grew up going to sleep away camp in Upper New York and I was worried that living here I wouldn't be able to find anything comparable. A neighbor recommended Camp Jackson and I feel so fortunate that she did. My kids can't wait for next summer!
My daughter has been going to Camp Jackson for years. It's her favorite summer experience, she loves the time with the horse and always makes friends. She gets the time to unplug and learn what it's like to live in the moment. She truly comes home with brighter eyes and positive memories.
Our kids went to camp Jackson for the first time this year after having to postpone from the 2020 season due to covid. They had the absolute best time! We are still hearing stories from their camp experience 6 months later! Our son is looking forward to next year's camp and since our daughter is graduating this year we're going to see about participating in family camp!
Attended family camp spring 2025. Absolutely amazing. Can’t recommend it enough! Staff was amazing and made sure we had a blast- was very engaged, friendly, and knowledgeable!! Food was excellent!! Plenty of planned activities for things we have never done before but also lots of availability to explore on our own. Family dance was epic. Thank you!! This will now be a yearly family tradition!!! Thank you Camp Jackson!!!
I went as a trip during the summer and it was one of my worst memories. The counslers were rude, they wanted to take a nap in the middle of the day when we were supposed to do group activities so they made us sit in silence in the dark so that they could sleep while we sat and couldn't do anything. When we went on hikes we weren't allowed to stop for any reason. I fell on the trail and twisted my ankle and they made me continue walking up and down the hill. They didn't say anything when the other kids were bulling eachother. When it was time to ride the horses they would have us go up to have us mount the horses. My foot slipped and my ankle (the one I had twisted earlier In my visit) got caught in the stirrup and I fell beneath the horse and the person holding the horse didn't even try to help me up they just watched as I struggled to get up while the other kids all laughed at me. They don't allow you to have anything that could tell the time and if you ask what time it is they lecture you about how that doesn't matter. When it is meal time they have a "no elbows on the table" rule which I am totally fine with, but they didn't tell us about it. We didn't know until I accidentally put my elbows on the table and the whole mess hall started loudly singing get your elbows off the table. I don't think that it is ok to make a child run around the mess hall while everyone else watches, laughs, and points at them. It is horribly embarrassing and cruel. I will never be going back, I was so excited to get to go on a trip and it was ruined before I could even put my bag down.
