Bring your own coffee maker if staying in a cabin. They don't have mugs either. Rec Center needs a remodel. Floor was wet in several areas because of roof leaks. The best was the helpful staff, the cafeteria and the craft center activities.
We went for a family reunion and would definitely look forward to returning since we all had a great time. Both Seth and Ryan went out of their ways to be accommodating to what we were looking for and made suggestions to make sure our stay went as smoothly as possible. Jacob is patient and courteous and took time to help us organize our items. The people at the activities cared about safety and were also fun. We would like to thank Cassie, Smiley, Midnight and Hunter who clearly explained the rules and how to play at the archery and ax throwing. We would also like to thank the lifeguards at the waterfront activities both Cookie and Hector were extraordinarily kind and accommodating and made sure everyone is safe. We would also like to thank Magic for taking us on a lovely tour on the pontoon. Magic and several of his colleagues also encouraged one of our family members to climb to the top of the Alpine Tower. Last but not least we would like to thank Robin from arts and crafts who patiently helped us all - and we are all different ages - to find what we would want to create and how we want to create what we had in mind. We would l highly recommend the Trout Lodge to anyone who would enjoy a fun vacation.
Beautiful place to stay! Very clean , Homey Great place to go, we were so relaxed! Wonderful! Great place to have The whole family to meet up with the Whole families!! We will try to do it again!!! Soon !!!!
A definite decline in both service and atmosphere over the past few years. I've been here several times over the past 30 years and I will say that this time I was sad. The counselors and staff were not as friendly and engaging. I definitely felt like a couple of them didn't like or enjoy their jobs at all and that was a shock to me. It is usually quite the opposite. The grounds were in disrepair and rather unkempt. Our room was clean as well as the dining area. The scheduled activities were not carried off effectively or with enthusiasm. I would definitely think hard about spending this amount of money on an all inclusive stay here again.
This is a beautiful place to visit! The staff are friendly and there's so much to do! My family and I look forward to our visit as often as possible. I've stayed here for work as well as vacation, and it doesn't disappoint. It's not very far from St. Louis, so it's convenient for a day trip, but there are so many activities that you just can't do everything in one day.
