Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Lake Monroe Introduce
Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Lake Monroe, located in Bloomington, IN, is a campground within the Campgrounds & RV Parks category, designed to provide a family-oriented camping experience. Offering a range of accommodations, including camper and cabin rentals, this park aims to create a fun and engaging environment for visitors of all ages.
While some aspects of the accommodations have received positive feedback, such as the cleanliness of the toilets, bathtubs, and refrigerators in rented campers, other areas have been noted for needing improvement. Reviews indicate inconsistencies in cleanliness, with concerns about dust in cabins and debris in plumbing. Maintenance requests, however, are generally handled promptly by the staff.
The park offers various activities aimed at entertaining children, including a jumping pillow. However, during peak times, such as school breaks, the capacity of some activities may be insufficient to accommodate all participants. Some customers have expressed a desire for more weekday activities, especially during fall break. The pool temperature has also been a point of concern, with reports of it being cold despite being advertised as heated. Hay rides, advertised as an attraction, were also not available during some visitor’s stays.
Accommodation quality has been inconsistent. Cabin rentals have been described as old and in need of maintenance, and some amenities, such as grills and coffee pots, have been reported as malfunctioning or unclean. Bunk bed sizes may also differ from standard twin sizes, requiring full-sized sheets.
Key features and considerations:
- Camper and cabin rentals available
- Family-friendly activities, including a jumping pillow
- Pool (may not be heated as advertised)
- Potential for limited activities during weekdays
- Inconsistent cleanliness and maintenance in accommodations
- Staff responsiveness to maintenance requests
- Access to Lake Monroe

We stayed in a rented camper here. The toilet, bathtub, and refrigerator were impressivey clean. The trashcan could use a wipe down. The floors also looked clean. The cabinets and everything were caked with dust, definitely need a deep clean. Also the tub spit out black debris when turning on. It would be nice if there were more activities during the week, especially during school fall break time. The twin bunks are not actually twin sized, if you are staying you need to bring full sized sheets to cover them. The kids loved the jumping pillow, but it isn't big enough to accommodate all the kids that were on it at one time. We did call on maintenance a couple times, and they addressed our needs promptly. Staff in office were great. The creepy creatures in the woods are scary for littles.
Overall we enjoyed our stay here, just not sure if we will be back. The pool was ice cold & advertised as heated. My 2 year old wouldn’t really get in the water. We were excited about the hay rides, but they never had one during Friday-Sunday while we were there. Our cabin was really old & needs maintenance. Our grill did not work at all, so luckily we brought our own. The coffee pot still had a leftover filter with coffee in it and kitchen utensils were dirty, left on the porch. With the price we paid for our cabin, my expectation was much higher.
The Park was decorated for Fall/Halloween. I think they even had trick-or-treating and a haunted trail. (If it wasn't a haunted trail....then something terrible happened!!! LOL). Fun place to camp.
We scheduled a last minute trip here before school. It was perfect for our kids. They loved to ride the golf cart around and lots of activities for the kids! We are already planning a group family trip next year!
Overall enjoyed our stay here in terms of the swimming water areas was perfect for our kids ages 3&5. We stayed during the week and didn’t know when any activities were happening. My only complaints were we rented a cabin and we HORRIBLE ant issue. I’m mean there were every where, bathroom, beds, kitchen. The door is damaged allowing pests in, as well as water when it rained. Upon arrival the microwave was not clean from previous tenants and the beds were equal to sleeping cement slabs. This was our first time “camping” but hoping this isn’t a typical experience.
Amazing staff and cute camp ground. They have 3 water areas but the water is freezing! They don’t heat up the pools like the other Yogi parks do - which I didn’t realize until we got here! You can always turn the heat off once the weather gets nice, but with the cold nights that water is not pleasant to get into! Otherwise very cute place! The jumping pillow area is also closed - which wasn’t posted on the website and not sure when it will be repaired. Lastly, a school bus with 40 kids came into the park today and about 4 adults to supervise, which is definitely not enough! They all came into the splash pad area (which isn’t very big) - my older kids were fine but a little boy got pushed on the stairs and hit his face.
We are here June 6-8. Very Disappointed. Water park slides and vertical fountain is all that works. All the features for smaller children do not work. Complained yesterday to no avail. Internet does not work. Paid premium for our RV site and was way overpriced. Ice cream and misc in the store also overpriced. If you want to go to a restaurant the trip is 18 miles. Never again.
We had a great experience with our first time here! The staff was very accommodating and the kids enjoyed all of the activities. The entire staff was very active with the kids. We are looking forward to coming back this year! Definitely one of the cleanest campgrounds we’ve been to and so much for the kids to do!
My family and were campers at this park from Sunday June 1st to Wednesday June 4th. We had rented a camper from the park. We were all really excited for the trip because the pictures from the website were beautiful and it appeared there was a lot of things to do in the park. This, unfortunately, was not our experience. Once we arrived at our camper, we noticed something wrapped around our sink faucet that had been used to absorb leaking water. It appeared the sink had been recently worked on. The absorbant pad had become quite full of water, so we took it off assuming the work that had been done had fixed the issues. We were wrong. For the duration of our stay our sink leaked. Outside the camper there is a hatch that if you open up it has a pull out cook top, a mini fridge and a faucet. We didn't attempt to use any of these because the mini fridge was covered in mold. We just went on about our trip and tried to make the most of it. The first evening we all explored some of the amenities the park had to offer. First the kids went to the jumping pillow and gem mining. They seemed to really enjoy them, and although we had already had a rough start, the kids seemed to be having good time. Shortly thereafter it was suggested we go to the pool. The pool itself was iceburg cold. None of us adults could even get into the pool because of how cold it was and the temps were in the mid 80s for the duration of our stay. So went to the splashground half of it didn't work. Which was kind of disappointing but again we made the best of it. That first night we grilled out, and although the website has said there grills at the campsites there were none. It was luck that we had brought our own. The real issues we encountered started on the second day. We woke up and the jump pillow was deflated. We later had found a group of older kids had come the night before and jumped on one spot and had popped the pillow. Sad, my kids moved on to another activity. That afternoon/early evening we walked the trails which were actually quite short. After the trails went back to camp to start dinner. As I started to prepare I noticed we had only had butter knives which wouldn't work for cutting potatoes, so I walked to the office to ask for a knife we could use. After a good ten minutes of waiting in the office they finally found a knife and told me it was the last one they had so I needed to bring it back to the office before we checked out. I agreed and heading back to camp. Started setting up dinner. When I went to turn on the the stove to cook not a single burner would come on. Again luckily we had brought our own grill that had a burner on it. After dinner, which took forever to cook due lack of amenities in our own camper, the kids wanted to go do some more gem mining. Unfortunately this time the gem mining has started to overflow and they then shut down the gem mining as well. My oldest had read on the brochure that they had lasar tag so we all headed towards the spot on the map where it was located. No lasar tag either. We eventually made our way back to camp and just hung out there with the fire. By our 3rd day we pretty much just sat around the camper because other than the pool, trails, and mediocre "activities" the campground offered there wasn't much we could do due to it all being out of order. Overall this was the worst experience we have had camping and we paid quite a bit for it. I was disappointed to say the least. I don't think we will be returning. At least not to this location.
Had a great time at Jellystone Park Lake Monroe with my husband Tristen! The campground was super clean and had so many fun things to do. Perfect spot for a relaxing weekend. Huge shoutout to Tina for being so friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be back!
