I had the pleasure of staying in the Japan yurt in mid December. The experience far exceeded my expectations…That says a lot since I was sick the two days of our stay. The bed was so cozy…and I spent a lot of time in it. Everything was very clean, as well as decorated nicely. There was a review saying they were bothered by the train noise. While we heard it we weren’t at all bothered by it as it wasn’t too loud. And there were ear plugs provided if that was an issue. The water in the bathroom did have a sulfur smell. Of course that would be expected in the area. It was nice that we were not far from town as my husband went and got take out for us and he was never gone long. My favorite was Eruption Brewery and Bistro- highly recommend! We did have a few questions before and during our stay. They were promptly answered by the owner. We plan to make staying at the yurts a yearly tradition.

From my first call with the owner to the last photo I took with my partner in front of the yurt—basking in the glorious snow—I can confidently say this was one of our best experiences in Lava Hot Springs. The yurts absolutely exceeded our expectations! You can’t capture all their charming details in photos or videos (though I tried). One of my favorite parts was the heated floors—I couldn’t stop wiggling my toes on them, lol. It’s clear the yurts were designed, decorated, and maintained with the traveler’s experience in mind. We stayed in the Japanese-themed yurt, cozied up while snow fell outside. It was truly magical. So, to anyone reading this: if you’re planning a trip to Lava Hot Springs, this is the experience you’ll want to book. It’s romantic, warm, inviting, and feels like your very own cozy yurt home. Plus, it’s more spacious than I expected! The hosts were wonderful to work with, and they have our full support. We can’t wait to come back for more adventures!

Had a great time. Really liked the aesthetic. Very clean, had everything we needed. Great view of the valley. The water does smell of sulfur, which I can see being off-putting to some. Then again, it’s near Lava, that’s kind of why people are visiting. We will most likely be back.

Contrary to the very few, and misplaced negative reviews I had encountered before booking, the accommodations were nothing less than immaculate. The space was meticulously clean, the bedding sumptuous, and the furnishings thoughtfully curated to reflect both comfort and style. One review I read complained about the “lack of Wi-Fi.” To those individuals, I humbly suggest staying home with their devices. The very essence of this retreat is its ability to disconnect you from the frenetic pace of modern life. Besides, with the Milky Way stretching across the night sky above, who needs streaming services? The outdoor amenities were equally exceptional. The fire pit was perfect for gathering under the stars, and the nearby hiking trails offered breathtaking vistas for snowshoers like myself. If you’re seeking a sterile hotel experience, this yurt may not be for you. But for those who crave an authentic, soul-stirring escape into nature’s grandeur, this is the place. Ignore the naysayers. This retreat is a gem, a true testament to the wonders of Idaho’s great outdoors

they bring together several different regions of the world to create one cool well spent night under the beautiful Idaho Stars. they are fully functional with electricity and water and the beds are great! the only thing one needs to bring is themselves and food. if you're looking for a place that gives you open Skies and Mountain views, this is it! the hosts are absolutely amazing and respond fairly quick.
