Customer Reviews
Zachary Taylor RV Resort is such a well run facility. From the ladies in the office, to the maintenance crew, to the Eric, the park manager, we were treated like friends. We've spent sixteen consecutive days here and have really enjoyed our experience. There is a real community vibe at this park. Guests and staff are equally welcoming and accepting. The biggest concern we had was the extreme population density. There are more lots here than you could imagine, but it's Florida. All of us northerners are looking for a little piece of the Sunshine State during the winter. Despite how many rigs there are squeezed into this property, it is very private seemingly. We have really enjoyed our time here.
We decided to come here for part of the winter at our friends’ review of the place since they had been here the past few years. Apparently management has changed now and the place appears more rundown in their opinion. I don’t normally write bad reviews but felt I had to do it for this place. The Pros: most people said hello as you passed them on the street or chatted in the pool. Water aerobics with Wallie was wonderful!! Visiting with our friends was the best! There’s pickleball courts, a nice pool although it didn’t get cleaned of debris regularly, nice pavilion, rec hall, laundry area. There are numerous activities planned. The music and dance were fun! If you have a boat and fish this place might be for you. Cons: sites are EXTREMELY close together. We were given a site we were told when making our reservation last year that our camper would fit. We were put in a very small(much smaller and more narrow than other sites) on an uneven grass site. We paid the same monthly fee as others with larger gravel sites. Our site was full of fire ants not just in hills but in the grass. I got numerous bites. They would not spray unless the hills were active We have a 1 ton truck and struggled to park it in front of our camper off the road. Parking is at a premium and at times seems to be a “fight” over who can park where. The roads are very narrow meant for one vehicle only. It’s an older, small park with many permanent old trailer models and permanent campers. Also, going to the east coast is 1hr 15min or more to do fun things or go to the beach. There’s not much to do in Okeechobee. We will not be returning.
A great RV Resort with access to Lake Okeechobee. Ideal for those who love to fish! Park is clean with excellent facilities and many activities. A terrific place to spend the winter! And check out the low rates!
DO NOT ARRIVE AFTER DUSK!!! They will not be able to get you parked in your spot if you don’t arrive during daylight hours! We got there at dusk and had to be in a site overnight then moved the next morning which isn’t ideal. They have people packed in like sardines!!! Okeechobee does not have much to offer other than a great dairy farm called Sutton Farm….. their milk, beef, and ice cream is absolutely fantastic!! The park itself is quite nice after we got over feeling smooshed. It’s well kept and there is a lot to do in the park itself…… nice gym, nice pool area, bikes for rent, pickle ball, bocce ball/petanque. Entertainment on Saturdays, potlucks. The laundry is nice, lots of machines. Bathrooms/showers are well kept (all of us sneezed multiple times when showering which is odd…. maybe the cleaning products used?). A lot of permanent residents and A LOT of snowbirds, pretty much everyone is very nice and welcoming. Al, who works there is an absolute treasure!!
nice park. little close to your neighbors but great way to get to know them. Very friendly staff and the people in the park also. Has activities to do if you want. has a pool.
