It was one of the nicest campsites I've ever been to. Bear boxes for every campsite and clean bathrooms.

Do put your food in the storage container, bears are no joke, Camp spots are nicely separated, gives you some space, definitely bring an axe for wood or good luck scavenging, beautiful 17 min walk from our camp site to the falls, it's definitely worth it,

Drive to almosa from Denver all the time. But never came to this spot. Before going home we made a side stop before driving home and id have to say my pics don't do it justice at all. It was awesome and saw a few deer on our way back to the main highway.

Great views of Sangre de Cristo range and Great Sand Dunes NP. Easy to book on Recreation.gov. Sites are spread out, good privacy.
