Zen Monkey RV Retreat, nestled in the scenic landscape of Afton, Oklahoma, aims to provide just that: a calm and convenient stopover or an extended stay for those exploring the Grand Lake O' the Cherokees region. This RV retreat positions itself as a destination where tranquility is a priority, offering a simple yet welcoming environment for travelers. While it's important for potential visitors to be aware of some of the past customer experiences regarding specific site conditions, the overall intent of Zen Monkey RV Retreat appears to be centered around providing a quiet, accessible, and pet-friendly base for experiencing northeastern Oklahoma.

Understanding the nature of an RV retreat like Zen Monkey is key for local users. It caters specifically to RVs, often providing essential hookups for a comfortable stay. For Oklahomans exploring their own state, a place like Zen Monkey RV Retreat offers the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of the Afton area and Grand Lake without the intensity of larger, more bustling resorts. It’s a place designed for unwinding after a day of exploration or as a peaceful home base for those on longer journeys.

Zen Monkey RV Retreat is strategically located at 55988 E 260 Rd, Afton, OK 74331, USA. For Oklahomans coming from Tulsa, Oklahoma City, or other parts of the state, the drive to Afton is manageable, making Zen Monkey RV Retreat a convenient option for weekend trips or longer vacations without extensive travel. The relatively flat terrain mentioned in some descriptions also suggests that maneuvering and parking RVs should be less challenging for most visitors.

No 30 amp hookup. The sewer hookup was too high to work for a bumper pull. Sight was very unlevel. Overall the campground was nice. Some patrons not cleaning up after pets, very quiet and nice area for walks.

Quiet, easy to find. We stayed for a single night, just needed a place to get off the road and enjoy some AC and a shower. The site was advertised as a premium 50 amp with electric water and sewer. Premium site number 5 was the one we stayed at. When I went to hook up the electricity, I turned on the breaker and it was arcing and buzzing. I could see sparks from behind the circuit breaker. So we did not have safe access to the 50 amp. If I would have been less tired or if my AC would not run off the 120v 20 amp breaker, I would have left immediately and demanded a refund. That 50 amp breaker and receptacle is NOT SAFE at site 5. There was no sewer at site 5 either. Overall I would stop here if it was between death on the road and a half way decent night's sleep. We got there at 830 or 9pm or so and I was up at 3:30 am thinking about electrical fire.... ready to hit the road. This place was quiet, close to monkey island... but when I see sparks shooting from a 50 amp circuit breaker, it does not make me want to plug into that or even park near it.
