Wanted to stay right outside Portland and this was perfect. Quick commute to where we needed to go. I have the Hilton app so we do contactless check in, and our room was ready early. Talked with the front desk and they allowed us a late checkout which we were very thankful for. We did still however have someone knock on our door didn’t seem like housekeeping asking when we were leaving informed them of our late checkout, we let them know the time we had discussed with the front desk and they were clearly upset. However, they moved on. Room with two queen beds was on the smaller side but that does not bother us as we were just staying the one night and only needed the room to sleep. As soon as we turned off the tv to sleep we could hear the neighbors two kids yelling very clearly after 10pm. We didn’t alert anyone as we just turned the tv back on, but if you need no noise may not be good for you. Room was clean. Lots of the outlets were not working like in the bathroom. Let front desk know on checkout because again it was not a real problem for us. Breakfast was very good and well stocked. They had some delicious scones! And waffles with pink glitter the kids loved it. Free water and cookies in lobby as well. Nice area easy to get to. Lots of parking. Restaurants nearby, McDonald’s across the street.
Reserved 2 rooms here for 3 nights in June. However, ended up canceling because all rooms smelled like dog and family is allergic to dogs. They do not have any dog-free rooms. We stayed probably 15 minutes in a room while the receptionist showed my husband a couple of their rooms, all terrible. Also, we reserved connecting rooms which they didn’t actually have. They charged me over $300 for zero nights and still have not refunded because of their “last minute cancellation policy.” On the phone twice they told me they would refund and never did. I do not recommend this Hampton Inn.
We booked a room in this hotel after having our flight to London canceled. We were booked on a flight two days later so we ended up spending two nights at this hotel. We were greeted by a rather rude receptionist when we arrived. I explained to her that we had thrown away some of our toiletries, such as toothpaste, and so on. And I had to beg to get a small amount of toothpaste from their stash. They were not happy to give it to me. The rooms are OK, however, we were located near the elevators and they were dinging all night. I asked for another room, but was promptly told none was available. Breakfast the first breakfast we had was not very good. They were out of orange juice and dark roast coffee. And when I mentioned this to the staff, I was met with shrugs and frowns. They were not happy about having to make new coffee and bring out new juice. The breakfast on the second day was better, if not a little cold. I asked about being able to extend our stay for a few hours because our flight did not leave until seven that evening, but was told that that was not possible. Only one hour could be added to our stay. I even offered to pay more money for a couple more hours, but I was rejected. However, we were able to leave our suitcases at the hotel until three in the afternoon and we spent the day visiting Portland. There was one particular shuttle driver who left us waiting for a very long time because he did not want to finish his break early. he was in a very bad mood when you picked this up. Other drivers were wonderful, especially Daniel. I will do everything to avoid this hotel in the future. They also charged us $50 more per room per night than was listed on the site. I feel cheated.
Hilton Honors diamond member. Payed $190 for a one night stay. Got double charged on my card because the front desk asked me to run my card twice. Squeaky floors upstairs. Since 5:00 am there are people walking upstairs and you can hear everything. Really squeaky floors. Stained furniture. Can hear neighbors snoring. Walls are paper thin. This place might have been a smoking room before. Still have a slight tobacco smell. Not sure how it’s a 3 star hotel and $190 a night. I’ve stayed in better 2 star hotels for less.
We arrived early and the front desk lady was very nice and accommodating. Love the cookies and bottle water by the front desk Shower in our room has mold and room smelled like someone spilled their perfume/ cologne. Good thing I always travel with fabreze and fabric softener sheets.
