Customer Reviews
This owner Carol is just a terrible person. Very rude, and does not know how to operate a campground. There is a reason this campground is never full and all the other campgrounds in the area are thriving during peak season. We had stayed for a weekend recently to go atving in the area. We had a horrible experience the second night (Saturday) We came back late from riding all day and a little wet from the sudden rain fall. The first thing we did back at the site was lite a campfire. Apparently it was a little higher than what was allowed. Carol the owner drives her tractor over to our site to scream at us for having a high campfire. Which burned down fairly low quickly as she was trying to point out the fire herself. She was swearing and just absolutely freaking out. Yelling at us to put the fire completely out. She then went on to tell us we had to leave the campground. All she had to do was tell us once to keep it low and that would have been the end of it. We were trying to reason with her that we would keep the fire low. She wasn’t having it. I could clearly see she was intoxicated. We were blown away by what was happening. So unprofessional and just disgusting behavior on her part. We finally convinced her that packing up in the dark and leaving wasn’t reasonable. She then said you have two choices then. Either stay in your trailer for the rest of the night or go home now. We said we will stay inside and leave in the morning. She responded by saying “yeah and early too” She really has no business trying to run that place. She is awful and rude. This place deserves to have new ownership. Till then it will be run into the ground with an owner like that.
RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!! I never leave negative reviews, but after today’s experience, I had to. Upon entering, I noticed a room full of eager, hungry snowmobilers on a holiday weekend, waiting without food, and most without drinks. Tables full of dirty dishes from previous customers still not cleaned up. And not a staff member in sight. I asked one of the 2 staff members that appeared (let’s call her RUDE lady) how long the wait was, and she snapped at me “10 minutes but I can’t promise you anything”. We finally ordered (Elk burger and turkey club) and upon getting our order, we were both skeptical if they made it right. Mine tasted more like beef, but I had never tried elk, so how would I know? His came as a wrap, so we assumed they were out of bread (since they were out of everything!!!). There was no staff to be found, so we ate it anyway. Here’s the good part.... on our way out, the RUDE lady said “you guys DO know you ate the wrong meal, right? Who eats something they didn’t even order?” and laughed without offering to compensate or apologize for THEIR mistake in any way, and walked away. Her ONLY job is to be a waitress (to serve food and provide good customer service), neither of which she is good at. Judging by other reviews, I am not the only one noticing this...
The campground itself was amazing. The owner on the other hand NOT SO MUCH. They were very difficult to get a hold of throughout our stay; after an email, multiple calls to the office, a call to a cell phone in which I was unable to leave a message b/c the mailbox was full and finally a text message, Carol called me. I was in the middle of explaining that there was a change in the number of people in our party since making our reservations a few months ago and I would like a refund for the 2 extra adults that were unable to come. She interrupted me, literally raised her voice, told me to stop talking and said it was our fault for not telling them there was a change and there would be no refund. WOW!! If she were to explain their stupid policy nicely instead being so rude I wouldn't have a problem paying, but now I'll be pursuing it further. We will be sure to share.
1st couple times I went there for dinner it was fantastic however the first time we went for breakfast on sunday, a friend accidentally brought in a dunkin coffee. I get its rude to being a dunkins coffee in someone's else restaurant however he asked the waitress as soon as we sat down if it was alright if he had it and the waitress said yes of course. Then about 5 minutes later an older lady (could have been the manager) came over and took the coffee and was extremely rude and told us to get out. She would not let us explain the situation about how we had asked the waitress. She continued to cut is off and freak out at us. If she had politely asked us to leave the coffee outside we would have been more than happy too. However the waitress said it was no problem. I would have been more mad about the waitress allowing it rather than being extremely rude to the customer who politely asked in the first place if it was an issue...then after she escorted us out of the restaurant she continued with the rest of the people who were in our group to get out. They never even said nor did anything to cause an upset. She just wanted us all out.
Do not stay here, do not even try and make a reservation, they will loose it. We had friends that were staying at this campsite, so we thought it would be nice to stay here close to them. I made a reservation a month in advance which was not easy, it was very difficult to get a hold of them. Finally I was able to make my reservation, and I was told that I would get an email confirmation in about a week. Okay. A week goes by no email, two weeks still no email so the week we were “booked” to stay I called that Monday to confirm. When the owner answered the phone she was very rude, “I’ll have to call you back I’m not in front of the reservations”, “I’m sure your reservation is in there.” As I was trying to get out the words “Would you like my phone number to call me back” she says again cutting me off “I’ll call you back I am not in front of the reservations!” Okay. I figured that I wasn’t going to get a call back so I tried to call the next day once in the morning, noon and afternoon, no answers. I tried Wednesday, no answers. Thursday I finally got the owner in the afternoon, I stated that I was trying to confirm my reservation and when I gave her my name I was not in the system. Shocker. So I gave her my information again and when I got to my address, she says “Oh yeah I remember this address.” …Okay. So at this point we are having doubts but we still thought we will give them a chance. We arrive at the campground about 5pm, we pulled up in front of the office to check in. The female owner came out to do the check in and either I didn’t fully understand or she didn’t not specify that we had to drop off our trailer with our wheeler first (which had a lot of our camping gear on it) and then we had to drive back down by the office and then loop around to our site, which was right next to the parking lot for trailers. Well like I said either I didn’t understand or she didn’t say which had to be done first so we start driving toward our site and the owner comes out and says “HEY HEY what are you doing!? I F*%#@ told her you need to drop the trailer off first, no trailers can go into the sites!!” So we start backing up and she yells again “I told her!” So we back all the way up and my boyfriend yells out the window, “You guys can just keep your reservation” and the male owner called us an a#*@hole, so my boyfriend yells back “F u just keep your reservation” And the male owner then told us “to go F ourselves.” We pulled out and called around to a couple places and found one in Maine just 20 minutes down the road that was amazing.
