This review is for Super 8 by Wyndham Orangeburg Near I-26, Orangeburg, SC. I am the paying customer for two queen rooms, 114 and 201, for Oct 8, 2024. I provided the rooms to help my niece and family, five adults and three children, evacuate the Tampa, FL area where Hurricane Milton landed the day of Oct 9. The booking was made through Booking.com, where I am a Genius Level 3 member. The front desk staff at the hotel, by the surname Patel, was extremely inhospitable and verbally abused my family. Every phone conversation I had with Mr. Patel ended abruptly after he would shout, “He’s too busy!” and “NO room! Leave me alone!” followed by hanging up several times. Mind you, I was calling to ensure my family could check in safely early morning as their anticipated 7-hour drive was now 11 hours due to many people evacuating FL and a flat tire on the way. Mr. Patel advised that the front desk would be open when they arrived early morning. However, they had to wait a long time outside for him to open the locked entrance. He was very inhospitable to them. My niece tried to extend the booking for an additional night when she checked in and he would not assist her – shouting, “NO room.” According to the Booking.com website, there was availability. I called him to extend the room and received the same inhospitable behavior, with shouting and hanging up. I called several times asking to speak with someone else as he would not help. Finally, I waited until daybreak, hoping to speak with a different front desk assistant or hotel manager. I could not and contacted Booking.com for support. The representative called while I was on hold and advised that she was told to email him, which she did. However, there was no response, and their checkout was at 11:00 a.m.. Just before 11:00 a.m., I called Booking.com again for help. This representative called the hotel while I was on hold, only to inform me that he was shocked; the front desk person, named Patel, had also hung up on him. I called the front desk again and finally got to speak to another assistant speaking very limited English. Although I was very clear that I wanted to extend reservations for the two rooms by one night and would pay, he couldn’t understand. My niece went to the front desk and called me from there. Finally, we were able to get him to understand. He didn’t know how to extend the rooms in the booking system or take payment but advised that there was availability and that they could stay another night. He also stated that the same price would be charged. He advised that when the manager arrived, he would contact me for payment later the same day. I never received any call for payment and decided that we could settle everything when my niece checked out. During the interim, the same Mr. Patel, who was horrible the evening before, saw my niece’s daughter in the hallway and publicly accosted her by shouting. “Why are YOU HERE? Get OUT NOW!” This was after their reservation had been verbally extended and they had received new hotel room key cards. He called their rooms, shouting more at the family, insisting they leave. Mind you, this family had just evacuated their homes, drove most of the night, and is stressed beyond words. My niece called me for help. I called the front desk to try to explain the agreement that was made and provide payment. As it was after 3:00 p.m., check-in time for the hotel, I scheduled the second night through Booking.com. I had to pay an increased room rate (not the same as was promised). It was only then that he stopped accosting them. To summarize, an aunt in NC trying to help her family evacuate a terrible hurricane met with Wyndham front desk staff who had locked them out, verbally abused them throughout their stay, and caused unnecessary drama, leading to a lack of sleep and stress. Super disappointed by this Wyndham experience. This is a hospitality service, is it not?

My Aunt Debra weaver reserved this hotel for me to evacuate Florida during the hurricane. The management staff was very very very rude. When I went to check in the man in the office told me I didn’t have a reservation and then after a few minutes found my reservation and threw the papers at me and said “sign this”. I asked if there was rooms available to stay another night he yelled “no rooms” and walked away. I went to my room to get some rest. The next morning at 10 am housekeeping was banging on the door yelling “you need to check out” when check out time was 11 am. I then went to the office to find out if we can reserve the room again for another night. The office staff didn’t understand English very well but made me keys for the room for another night and said to speak the manager later and he would get the payment. I waited hours for the manager to call the room phone. Finally at 5 pm Mr Patel called the phone and told me to check out and leave now and clean the room also. Finally after about an hour of going back and forth with him the payment was made and he kept hanging up on my Aunt several times and also booking.com. Also the free breakfast was not even cooked it was frozen taken straight out of the freezer and put into the warmer. Frozen sausages French toast and fried eggs. The milk for cereal was spoiled. The TV was working at first but then wouldn’t work the next day. Super stressful trip. Terrible management and customer service.

Ok for a one-night stay. Unfortunately, lots of cons vs. pros. Never anyone at the front desk. First room had a leaky toilet and water on the floor. Second room’s TV had no signal and after waiting for an unusually long time for someone to come, we fixed it ourselves. The rooms were sufficiently clean, but nothing spectacular for almost $100/evening. I suppose the worst was at 9:00 am we were told the coffee pot was empty and the promised full breakfast was non-existent. Lastly, the language barrier of the staff/employees was a definite problem. With many, many other options very close by I would choose somewhere else.

This motel is a dump! There was a whole in the wall that was “fixed” by stuffing paper towels in it. The bathroom floor was filthy and all around the room there were brown stains on the baseboards. There was some kind of tape around the bathtub faucet This place was so cheap they didn’t even have a clock in the room. We got one hand towel for two people. The pillows were awful. The pool was about the size of a large hot tub and was green. The concrete stairs to the second level were crumbling. We had a coffee maker in the room, but no cups or coffee.

DO NOT STAY HERE! This place is disgusting. Staff is creepy. Spider eggs on the walls. Bugs everywhere. Stains on literally everything. Tvs don't work. Linens smell like a dead body. The bathroom smells like urine. The next morning, staff attempted to enter our room several times before the sun was up. You'd be more comfortable sleeping in the parking lot.
