These environments can be incredibly unforgiving, so preparation is key to staying safe and comfortable. Whether you're heading into the sweltering desert heat or the frigid conditions of a mountain winter, understanding how extreme temperatures affect your body, your gear, and your campsite can make all the difference in having a successful trip.
