Booked a room at this Hampton Inn after the Hilton across the street was full. Walked in and the hotel smelled, floors weren't very clean and the desk clerk was very kind but his clothing was dirty looking. I gave 1 star for service due the the dirt areas. Exited the elevator on the 3rd floor and the carpeting looks like it hasn't been cleaned in 20 years. Visible spills, stains and musty odor, really gross looking. The room did have a clean bathroom and decent beds, but the carpet had a big hole and overall the room smelled well used. We stayed anyway as it was a last resort after a very long day. The room was also $30 HIGHER than the immaculate Hilton across the street. My Hilton Honors membership did nothing for the price. I should have taken photos of the carpeting.

Great location. Came for the pool with my children, which was under construction after I missed the post on their website I guess. HOWEVER, our initial arrival was greeted with attitude, no assistance and no notice of said pool construction. We were sent to our first room which was FILTHY and I called the front desk only to have to bring all of our belongings all the way back to the front desk to be sent back upstairs to a clean room. Not an easy task with a bunch of kids who all ready ran in the room and jumped on a gross bed and hopefully don't get sick from it. We decided to leave and was given attitude when we handed back our key. Disgusted.

Overall, this is a great hotel. It appears to be relatively new, the rooms/building were clean, the staff was friendly, and the breakfast was solid. The only downside during my stay was with the dryer in the guest laundry room not working properly.

I had a terrible experience during a difficult time. I was up here at the Bangor main Hampton Inn because my son was in the hospital. Bangor the managers there were rude my son paid for my rooms with his card but when I checked in, they asked for a credit card for credentials so I gave them, my card They had charged that night to my card the room and then there not supposed to charge you until you check out so that messed up my account and they said they could not reverse the charge so OK and then I need to extend my stay because my son is still in the hospital and I called the number. It automatically went to Expedia and they were imposing as employees. Stay there for two more days and I was charged $576 cause they said it was a holiday weekend, my son went to straighten it up and and they were rude. four days with out cleaning my room or giving me clean towels or empty the trash cans when I approach them about it. They got very rude with me. I raised my voice. I was told they would have me removed. going through difficult time and I didn’t need to take that BS night manager said that if I didn’t stop, I would be thrown out of the hotel she would have me removed . And everyone has stories Manger told me I am banned from all Hiltons

I've stayed at Hampton Inns all up and down the Eastern coast and can say that local ownership seems to make a *huge* difference in the quality of the location. Fortunately, this is one of the good ones. I frequently travel here for work and the service for the price is excellent. The breakfast buffet is good, the rooms are clean, and, after years of waiting, they have finally purchased new treadmills for the fitness center. The three things most important to me for a hotel are comfy beds, good breakfast, and good treadmills so this hits all three of my concerns. Not required for a five star rating but really nice would be free L2 charging on-site like a few other Hilton properties I stay at.
