Holiday Shores Campground & Resort

Great location, lots to do for everyone of all ages. My 3 kids ages 2-9 had lots of things to do, and we filled our time at this campground easily. The store is well stocked, and there is hot food to be purchased for reasonable price all day. The bathroom/shower and pool areas are very clean. Minor things that I didn't like, half the staff were rude/short/unpleasant, and there is a kid who I assume works here that is flying around on a golf cart. Otherwise was a fantastic stay and we would stay again!

Saturday 9/21/24 We rented a pontoon boat from Holiday Shores water sports. The rental was supposed to be from 2:00pm-6:00pm. At the time of pick up, we questioned the young man about the safety of taking the boat out as the weather appeared to be changing. He assured us it would be fine and pushed us off. In approximately a half hour all hell broke loose. We pulled off of to the shore line about 3/4 of the way to the damn. It was lightning and down pouring. The boy from Holiday Shores found us on a jet ski and told us to return. We had the boat 1 hour. We called the office for a refund and it was closed. We went to the office before leaving the campground and the office was dark and sign said closed at 3:00pm. The next day we returned to the office and talked to manager Jill. She told us that we were liars, that the weather wasn’t that bad and that the boy only came out to check on us. Well if the weather wasn’t that bad why send him out. Their contract states that there will be a prorated refund in the event of inclement weather. Our rental bill was $273.16 for 4 hours. We had the boat back by 3:00pm and tried to call at 3:09 and was at the office by 3:15pm. Our refund after being called liars was $98.68. My math at only having the boat for a terrifying 1 hour comes to a refund of $204.87 and an apology. We’ve known the Ward family for 38 years. We camped there, rented the camping cabins and had our speed boat serviced with them always having a wonderful experience. This was despicable! We’ve never been spoken to so disrespectfuly or treated so badly ever! What a shame. Wayne Gudaitis

This place is huge and has lots of amenities but we didn’t really use any. The lots are spacious and most are tree covered. We stayed in the pull through lots and 100-121 have big pine trees on them. Spots 122-136 must be newer and have smaller trees. They set it up nicely that the bigger RVs for the pull through spots go in a second entrance which is more direct access. Our only complaint is trying to get in touch with someone in the office. It is after Labor Day so I assume they have less staff. We pulled in at 6pm and got to our site and there was a huge hornets nest! We tried calling and it went to voicemail. My husband walked to the office, which was already closed and a good distance away. Luckily another camper had to trade sites when he came in and they had given him a list of sites available so we moved to one of those. We also tried calling during office hours to get the WiFi code and no one called back.

Went there for a family vacation, my travel trailer can sleep 10 people, they say they have a limit of 5 on their sites we were willing to pay for the extra people, I have reached out multiple times to them for responses as to why we were told we have to pay for an extra campsite. They say it is for safety reasons, yet when we told them we would all be staying in the travel trailer they were fine with it. I will continue reaching out to rectify this and possibly later my review, however at this time I would not go again. Reply: You may need to check your website then as I have filled out the form on your website multiple times, otherwise there is no email address provided for me to reach out. We were told for safety reasons and not amenities and whatnot as to the reason we had to pay for a whole extra site, either way the reasoning does not make sense

Second time this season, not the height of the season, quiet and beautiful sunsets. Will definitely go again. Only minus was the lack of WiFi and when it was working it was weak. Had to use our hot spot. Overall a very nice and peaceful 4 days.
