Customer Reviews
I was thoroughly impressed with this establishment. There are ample activities for both children and adults. The firewood was very affordable, and the hot tub was relaxing. The heated pool and the Wibits were enjoyable for the children. Additionally, there were lifeguards on duty, and fishing was also available. They also hosted WiBit competitions for the kids, my daughter loved it. The host was very entertaining! There are other amenities but too many to list. It’s on the website. The only minor drawback was the service by the pool; the bartender seemed to prioritize permanent guests over newcomers. She could have smiled or been a little more pleasant however it is not a deal breaker, to each their own. Overall, I had an excellent experience and look forward to returning. This location offers a plenty of family fun!
If you are okay with signing your life away for a campground then this is the place for you!! Food service, bad. Cold food. Throwing a straw at a 15 year old… not cool. Management will unfortunately back their employees bad behavior and the customer will get the wrath of it. “Security” is a joke. From the bad reviews that I have read this seems to be a common problem and we should have looked into that before spending money here. Needless to say, my friends, family and certainly myself will not be returning
I had the worst time camping here, ever. The sites are nice. HOWEVER- the restaurant service, management and security is absolutely terrible. We came in with a table of 12. I told them that if there was about a half hour wait, we would be okay with having a drink or two before we sat. The only nice employee, receptionist maybe, said not to worry, *no wait*, we would be sat in just a few minutes. We were really pleased! We ordered one round of drinks from a different (rude) waitress, she didn’t come back for at least a half hour-45 min to take our order. Ordered food, another round of drinks. She launched the straw at my friends 15 year old daughter from across the table, infront of us all including two very hungry, anxious, kids. One kid is 10, other is 4. Waited for our food for over two HOURS. Finally it came out and was very cold! Mind you, the place was not busy to justify this. They only offered a 20% discount for the terrible service, longest wait ever and cold food! The waitress, again, was no where to be found, no other staff around. If they came out into dining room, they were more concerned with cleaning up for the Halloween party, They ignored us. We tried getting their attention multiple times. We were fed up with not receiving our bill so we each put down an honest amount of money that we thought would cover our costs. After buying Riverbend apparel, an entire case of Busch Light from the bar that was paid for on the spot to sit and drink at our table since no one was attending to us, and many other purchases including a golf cart rental, we left the restaurant and headed back to our campground. The staff there WATCHED us leave, and sent “security” on their golf carts to meet us at our campsites. After discussing the awful dining experience, security told us that they had a bigger fish to fry: a child locked in a camper. After dealing with that situation, they would come back to give us the recipes we didn’t get at the restaurant in order for us to pay the rest. Instead, they came back with a $500 fine, no exceptions, from the campground. We offered to pay what was left unaccounted for on the bill, even without the 20% they promised, they said they’d talk with us the next morning even though we went back and paid the FULL bill. Which, we were apparently missing $60 dollars by the way. Paid the bill that night, talked to Perry (owner?) next morning. He would not take the fine back, but he dropped it to $250. How, morally, are you going to charge (STEAL money from in my opinion) from your campers who were more than willing to pay the bill in the first place? GARBAGE PEOPLE! Money hungry establishment. In no way, shape or form, did they try to make things right by their patrons. Lied to by management. Bottom of fine says pay in 30’days. He gave us a week?!
Horrible service at the restaurant. Was in restaurant for 3 hours. Cold food. Waited 2 hrs and still no check. Put money on table and left. They fined the group $500 because they didn’t give us a check and cold food, said we didn’t pay. Had to go back pay bill again and fine. Never going back
We are repeat customers. The resort is lovely and we lucked out and got a site on the river. The kids enjoyed the activities. The pool is always awesome. Pizza at the restaurant is always delicious. Loud music is an issue, especially in vehicles and golf carts. They had fireworks one night which was an unexpected bonus. My two concerns are price (with a golf cart it was nearly $1000 for a holiday weekend -that is obscene and what happens when one waits until the last moment to book somewhere.), and absolutely no Internet connection. I even got scammed into paying additional for internet that doesn't exist. I can't even find it in the network list 90% of the time and the rest it says connected without Internet. I teach online classes at night so need access. The resort completely disavows any responsibility for the wifi, immediately noting they don't give refunds. Considering they offer it as a service and the link to purchase WiFi is on their site, they should be more involved. I was given the number for the internet company who said the 1mb speed I had was "crawling." They said they'd have a technician look into it. Doubtful that's going to happen before the end of our stay. They don't do refunds either. Bottom line, the offer of internet access is a ruse. Don't waste your $12. I hate when companies choose profit over customers for the smallest of issues.
