We cannot thank this KOA location enough. We evacuated the Bradenton/Sarasota area ahead of Hurricane Milton and were not expecting a reduced rate, but thanks to the manager, we were refunded the majority of the original booking price. How amazing is that??? On top of that, the facility was clean and every staff member we interacted with was pleasant. We will definitely stay there again!
Great location. Travel w other couples . Asked for us to be together. Confirmed when we called in. Got there and spread us out. Not happy. Asked if she could move me next to one friend. Said ABSOLUTELY not. Other site was booked. NO ONE WAS THERE...And we were only there 1 night. Rv troubles that is why I asked to be closer to friends as they were to help us. She didn't care!..RUDE!
We only stayed 1 night in our camper. Beautiful place, excellent reception. They have an excellent dog park. Thanks we will stay again
Worst place I've ever stayed Absolutely no welcome package left for late arrivals. Imagine arriving 9 or 10 at night and not knowing where your assigned cabin is located(the sudden panic kicks in) office is of course closed for the night ( another family arrived the same time with the same dilemma) Bedbugs camping cabin 1 Mold infestation in toilet tank Mold in shower stall Shower drain mainly black Fridge not working properly No fan in washroom Tv in bedroom doesn't work They change extra for a fire pit They refuse to pick up garbage bags in the morning from each site Providing 2 rolls of TP and 1 garbage bag for an entire weeks stay Filed report with Florida Dept of Business Professionals Relations, Division of Hotels and Restaurants Under section 509.013(4)(a) Florida statues re-mold infestation found within cabin The new owners refused to make things right in the first place with their higher than mighty confrontational attitude. They run around all day remind campers of THEIR rules running like some sort of interment camp Thank you for all you have done to resolve this situation We left a day early and they refused to refund us for the extra day NEVER AGAIN Check out what others have said on this and other review sites They're not as nice as their relatives say they are (only good reviews)
I am extremely disappointed with the behavior of this KOA. I have stayed in several KOA’s in the past and after this experience, I will not stay in a KOA again. I signed up for 6 months starting in April. I was under the impression that my stay was through the end of October and planned to leave at the end of the month. Since I started staying at this KOA I felt as though I was walking on egg shells and always had a target on my back. I travel for work and travel some weekends with my coach. I always minded my own business and made sure my lot fee was paid in a timely manner. We were hit with two hurricanes (Helene & Milton). On October 4th, my girlfriend went to pay what we believed was our last months rent. She was told by the front desk that she would have to come back another day because she was not trained on taking payment because Amy is the only one who handles payment. She spoke to Gary (who is some sort of security) outside and he mentioned that I was planning to leave on Saturday October 5th which she replied with, “No, I believe we have one more month - where did you hear that?” His response was “Oh, I heard it through the grapevine.” Nothing else was discussed and no further notification was given. We were unable to make it to the office on Saturday October 5th in the morning and walked in later to pick up some mail which we were not infomred with our so called departure day. On Monday, October 7th (two days before Hurricane Milton was to hit) she walked back in to pay the last months rent which she was informed that we were supposed to be out on October 5th. This caused an issue since Hurricane Milton was supposed to hit on Wednesday evening and we were trying to secure our storage trailer and the coach. The same day, I had a conversation with John regarding storage and moving my enclosed trailer into a spot to avoid any tree damage which I was not informed that we needed to be out on the same day, or should have been out prior. When my girlfriend spoke with Amy and John in the office on Monday October 7th - they informed her that we need to be out that same day by 1 pm because someone was coming in to take our spot. She asked if we could come back after the hurricane since we didn’t have another placed lined up until the end of October and she said “We could probably figure something out, but you’d have to pay another security deposit for the electric.” They told us they had no open spots and they could not move us to another spot day of. In a panic, we had to come up with another plan - we ended up calling Keystone Heights RV Resort and they were fantastic and were able to get us a spot same day. I would definitely reccomend KHRVR and they did a fantastic job. It’s a shame that this KOA did not work with us in the midst of a hurricane coming in two days. Nor did they give any notice of which date we were supposed to depart the campground. No calls, emails, letters or physical communication to inform us of this date. I came back on Friday, October 11th (after the hurricane hit) to get my enclosed trailer and there were several open spots (at least 30) including the spot we were previously staying in. I am an executive with my company and had to travel south to help branches prep for the hurricane, so I had no time to be moving my coach the day of. We did notice at one time in the laundry room there was a sign that the campground had been bought out by KOA due to financial difficulties. I understand and see why they had financial difficulties if the same personnel is running it now, as running it then. Again, I am extremly disappointed with the way this KOA handled our situation (in the midst of a hurricane) even though we had been staying there for 6 months. We will not return to this KOA or any in the future due to this experience.
